you can if you have a dual boot setup. My fiancee's dad has been trying to do this for ages (an IT lecturer - uses Office 2000 at home but college uses 97) and the answer is no.

If anyone thinks its possible - tell me so i can get some brownie points and get the tight git to fork out for the wedding!

I've had parallel Office versions running on many occasions. No problem at all. In fact, my work PC has 97 & 2000 on currently.

Yes you can, just specify a Custom install and put the new version into a different directory.

Obviously due to licensing issues, you cannot use an upgrade version to do this.

Another yes here. I run 97 and 2000 at work for troubleshooting purposes.

Knowledge Base article with notes about doing this.

Been doing it for ages. at one stage had 95 for macros, 97 and 2000 for support and XP for general things. Biggest problem was access trying to take over the world. I had to set up the file extensions carefully.

Cool

'Tis true. You can have multiple instances of Office, as long as you install the oldest first.

Use the custom install, and install the new version in a different location to the older version.

Simple.

You could also set up a virtual machine on your desktop, with VMWare or the Connectix software. That would mean not only could you have a different version of office, it could run on a totally different O/S, if you wanted.
