I had a V66.Got nicked got a T720i replacement.Truesync software wouldnt work, downloaded update from Moto site(not starfish as they point all downloads to Moto site now). 3.1 i think. Update told me to remove old software, update didnt work.Buggered.Did a search on google, found forum with tons of links.
There is one FTP site that does it all.168MB download though so beware. Then download the 3.1 update from Moto site.
Should work as the big download has all usb drivers, serial drivers etc and all models.
ftp.wds.net.au
or if you are really stuck i have a copy of the new version on cd
I also used a bit of software from another company but will have to dig it out to remember
hope this helps

Cheers Tony,

Still cant find the software
The link re-directs to wdsglobal.com.

I've got the 3.1 version, but it doesn't support the A6188
Need version 1.0, but Motorola and Truesync don't support it any more, with both sites pointing to each other for downloads!!

Cool

Puff

Got the phone connected to the PC, but can't get them to talk to each other.
Have installed Truesyncplus, and when I launch the synchronize wizard, it cant find the phone.
Have installed the serial driver SERMOT.ini and new modem on the correct com port but not sure if the driver is the correct one, as I installed it using a different verion of Truesync that deosn't support the A6188.

Have you got the A6188 driver on disc?
Could you mail it to me please?

Thanks in advance

Scoty

Cool

You're not going to like this - well I'm not!!

I have the disk, NP, but there isn't a driver as such - just Install Wizard & .cabs etc

So you will be receiving an 8.5mb email

Can you handle that?

I "could" put it on a website for d/load but I'm not sure I've got the space...

Or take it to work tomorrow & either host it or post it.

I don't need it anymore as my wife managed to break the phone

In fact, I'll cc myself @ work & if you don't get the email, I can whack it up on some webspace later on...

Unfortunately, I'm on 64K ISDN so 8.5mb takes a while But as I CC'd the original to work, it was there, so I've whacked it on the website

Cheers for all the help today Puff

Still can't get the phone to talk to the PC

I've managed to get a hold of Starfish Truesync Software which supports 6 different Motorola phones (not the A6188) and it also has a serial driver and usb driver option to install before installing the Starfish Desktop.

The Starfish version I have for the A6188 deosn't have the option to install a serial or usb driver, so I think this is why the phone won't talk to the PC because the proper drivers are not installed.

Been searching for a few hours, but can't find a driver that suits.

Has anyone got this driver they could e-mail me please?

Thanks in advance

Scoty

Really daft idea, but maybe put a post up on XDA Developers Forum?

Lots of PDA-centric people there that may be able to help...

Have you got a serial cable driver for the A6188?
