Question

Hope someone can help,

The other half has spent most of today working on a Word file on a floppy (against my advice) on my laptop. Anyway she closed it and opened it in my desktop to print out and now the word doc is completey blank, it's not just lost todays changes but everything.

I know it's a long shot but is there anyway of retrieveing a version of the doc from before she shut it down? either from the floppy or the HDD (even though she never saved it there)?

Any help/advice appreciated on how to try and retrieve the data, the sooner the better so I can get my dinner.

Cheers

Steve

Have you tried looking at the document on the laptop again? If they have different versions of Windows and/or Office this sometimes happens.

Steve, had a friend ask me this a month or so ago. I did a search and managed to find a piece of software that specifically recovers data from floppy disk.

It damn well worked too.

Have a search on google, in the meantime I'll see if I've still got it.

Thumbs up

Dave,

Thanks for the additional links, but problem is now solved.

Picked up something called "Hex Workshop", from one of the guys at work. It took a bit of time as it was a case of going through the disc a sector at a time but all of her data is now back in Word.

Cheers

Steve
