Looked under the older software bit on Apple ? Yep, couldn't see it there either

Did find this though, free register to get it. No idea if it is the right thing etc. as I know squat about Macs.

Cheers

Ian

This is probably a very long shot but a friend uses a really old Apple Macintosh II CX for doing a bit of Word Processing and a Apple Personal LaserWriter 320 for printing.

The Hard Disk became corrupted and I reformatted it and reinstalled the System Software but I cannot get the Printer working now as she doesn't have the Printer Driver Installation Disks that came with the Printer as she bought this whole system second hand and the printer driver was pre-installed.

I was wondering if anyone on here who may have an Apple Personal LaserWriter 320 would have the original installation floppies (for Macintosh System 7.1) and could make me a copy of them and I would of course cover P+P etc.

I had a look on www.apple.com to see what I could find but this printer or drivers for it isn't mentioned at all. As the computer is really old it doesn't have a modem or CD-ROM drive.

Any help appreciated,

Gavin

Don't know if you need the whole installation files or if the PPD is all you need, but you can download a PPD file here

Did you try using the standard Laserwriter driver?

I think the 320 is a Appletalk printer. I have a 4/600 PS somewhere, if I can fine the disks you can have a shot at these.

Hang on and i will have a look
The 320 is a LocalTalk printer, though i know you can use an 8 pin serial cable attached to either modem or printer port.

Thumbs up

SwissTony,

The printer is conneced via a Serial cable to either the printer port or modem port so I would assume that an Appletalk driver is of no use as this is for use in a network system?

Cheers AlanB, will drop you a mail tomorrow and hopefully you will be able to help me

Working on this for you but looking pretty hard to sort out.

Won't say no though as if you can hang on I've got some contacts at Apple who might be able to help.

I am very disappointed with AllanB though, he *really* should have sorted you out

Well, when the sea freight arrives I'll have my CD with system 0.1 - 7.0 on it, but that'll be a while away.

On the subject of drivers, anyone got the Epson 777 driver for OS X? It's meant to be in the install CD, but guess who's not got the OS X install CD
