Question

Bit of a long shot, but I'm hoping someone may have an answer for a problem I have, or can at least point me in the right direction.

One of our apps has a built in web browser based around the mfc CHtmlView class. What I am trying to do is to encode into a url, additional information which can be intercepted by the OnBeforeNavigate2() method....

<a href="ID:123:http://www.scoobynet.co.uk">

This seems to work fine, and I can extract the various parts from the url, but I have the problem then that I need to modify the url that the browser actually navigates to, to just the latter http part of the original url. The trouble is that the url is passed into the OnBeforeNavigate2 method as a constant, so I can't alter that.

VC7 (.net) seems to provide a nice OnTranslateUrl() method which I expect would do the job, but I'm having to use VC6, and it's not implemented in that.

Anyone got any ideas as to how I can modify the url?

Thanks,
Iain
