Well Folks,
its seems I find myself without work at the moment Not good for the old bank balance ( or the XTR² ).
If anyone knows of any contractor requirements in the midlands (I will consider further away if the work is interesting) could you please drop me a mail to igratton@easynet.co.uk.
Previous work includes building Comets new website at http://www.comet.co.uk with Software AG and several e-gov portal projects. I have also worked on internal projects within Microsoft Research in Cambridge. I have previously worked in the USA for Computer Associates (as part of Platinum Technology).
I have 8 years experience on Microsoft Platforms (C/C++/MFC/ATL, VB, ASP, COM/DCOM, SQL Server, and also .NET C#) I have 4 years experience of J2EE including JSP/Servlets/JDBC/EJB/SOAP/XML/Struts/Websphere/JRun/JBuilder etc.
I can switch easily between the Microsoft and Java skills - in fact many projects I have worked on involved both.
My CV can be made available along with good references from Software AG, Comet PLC and Microsoft.
Thanks in advance
Ian G.

Yep - been looking on Jobserve. The market isn't quite what it was 8 months ago thats for sure.
Dave, you could try you know where for me - but I hear quite a few folks have got the boot recently - I wouldn't imagine there was room for contractors. Thanks for your kind words re my work
I'll keep looking.
Regards
Ian.

Need a .Net contractor for Milton Keynes, trouble is the client is only paying £30/hr but it is better than sitting at home.
Let me know if you are interested, as could try to get something going ASAP, though it is slightly tenuous requirement as he will only take somebody on if they are 100% match.
Is a real req as I know the client personally!

I've worked in Cambridge before with Microsoft. I would be prepared to travel if the work is interesting and rewarding.
regards
Ian.
