Apple iBook?
#1
Has anyody here used an iBook (http://www.apple.com/uk/ibook)?
If so, what were your thoughts?
I'm bored of my pc (900 MHz) and thought I'd give a Mac a go...
How will the 800MHz PowerPC G3 version of the iBook comapare to my 900MHz laptop running XP?
Also, due to the fact that I'm a student, Apple offer us discounts and so I've been offered the 14.1-inch TFT XGA display 800MHz PowerPC G3 for £1,301.90.
Is this the best price I'll find it for?
Andy.

I used to have an iBook - 12.1 screen with CD-RW - had to sell it as I was (still am) skint.
Was a lurvely machine, OS X is a refreshing change to Windows XP, et al (IMO) and everything ran nice and smoothly. Didn't have a ny grief from it for the time I had it (approx 4 months)
I'd say gopher it!

I got a 14.1" 800mhz iBook just before Christmas and am pretty pleased with it.
I'd previously been a pc user and this is my first Mac - I haven't had any problems in any way 'switching'.
The iBook doesn't have a floppy drive but that's not too much of a problem - e-mail's sort of render the floppy obselete IMO.
I upgraded the RAM to 640mb which makes it quite a lot quicker when you have quite a few programs up and running.
If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me!
