Which does everyone recommend please....... and no offence, but I'd rather hear the views of people who have had experience of several clients (or are in-the-know)
I don't want Norton or McAfee. Cost not a problem up to £100
The virus software must have email scanning capabilities, though.
Thanks in advance.

i have always used mcafee, but have some experience of norton too. However I have heard very good things about AVG, so that might be worth a try if you dont like the others.

Use Sophos, I've used it for years and if kept up to date I've never had a virus slip through.
Of course, Jack will be along in a minute to tell us we are all wrong

Hupigeon... and others.
I'm now under the impression that these have been dumped on the system overnight (since the previous scans). God only knows how they got on there, but they have
I'm now assuming I've got a serious security breach and have taken the PC offline. I'm going to research all the viruses that have been identified and take necessary steps in eradicating them from the registry.
Also, anyone got any views on Tiny Personal Firewall 3?

I use McAfee - the web based version which is very good. It updates with no problems and also prompts breaking news on new virus threats etc - highly recommended and effective as far as I can tell. We use McAfee and Trend at work - Trend is very good. Their update service is very good. We have SLAs in place for customer AV servers that mean we have to have new patch files available on our main AV servers within an hour of a threat being identified. Trend was one of the few companies that could manage this.
