Have some films already put into vcd folders. Used nero to dump them onto a cd but it doesnt work. I just dumped them on as a data cd because all the files were in correct folders etc. Do I still need to burn it as a video cd in nero because when i tried to do this it wouldnt let me in that i put all the files into the correct folders on the left window but nero doesnt display the burn button, its greyed out for some reason. Oh and its Nero 5.5
Also does the film file need to be .mpeg as mine are in .dat format? Never done this before and its getting frustrating!
Please help!

Created the vcd fine as it works on my laptop but looks like my bloody dvd player wont read gold cd's which was the whole point of me creating vcd's so I can watch it on mt telly!!!
Its a Samsung DVD-511 and I got it free so I shouldnt expect much but surely its not too much to ask that stuff reads gold cd's as standard anymore is it???
Anyone also have or know about the Samsung DVD-511 and whether it is possible to get it to read gold cd's?

had a look on www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
it seems your player will play vcd only with vivastar or princo cds.
Apart from that, its meant to be a C*** player anyway, but if you got it for nothing
i got a sh*** Goodmans ,about £100,plays everything i throw at it,mp3,vcd,svcd,cdrw,cdr,dvdr ......

should have guessed getting it free meant it was gonna be cr@p - got it with a mobile phone deal out of the sky magazine a few years back
I burnt the first attempt at 40x speed so didnt think it would work and the next attemp at 8x speed but by the looks of that site it needs to be 4x speed or less with the cdr's u mentioned.
Thanks again for the point in the right direction

Bravo2zero put a search in for DVD reviewer then look for your model and model number. If you can hack it you will find how to on here. I have done my Hitachi and (Medion) had never heard of it before) but it was a cheap on for the bedroom. Good look

Cheers Deedee, unfortunately mine requires an Aiwa handset from a stereo etc to hack it, I had one when I was married but it was my wifes stereo and the witch wouldn't let me keep it when we split lol. Unfortunately the hack wasnt a permanent one and had to be done everytime u switched the damn thing on.
I had an idea anyway, the ps2 is a dvd player so will see if that reads my vcd's, was too busy slagging the samsung off yesterday to think of the ps2 Hope it works.
