Suspicious E mail
#2
Just recived an E mail from neil@neil-lynda.fsnet.co.uk heading Footer end containing just an attachment called TYPE.ZIP.
I dont know this person but upon inspecting the return path, the e mail it gives is of a person whom I do know.
Does this sound suspicious to anyone else?
It remains unopened atm.

Just phone them and ask if they sent it. Thats the easiest way.
It is easy to fake the from field in emails. I would look into the message header and see what smtp server the email originated from and see if its in the same domain as the sender.
Also the return address is not always the senders address.

I have a virus scan running but it doesnt scan unopened e mails.
Deleated now anyway as i've spoken to the person whom the redirect points to and he knows nothing about it, and has been alerted to a virus in one of his mails.
Now deleated on advice of Ian W if thats next weeks lotto numbers dont expect a xmas card!

Well if you were using a real mail client, and a decent ISP you could scan your mails before opening them!
Something masquerading inside a zip file?
SHould have sent it to jack... Could have been a new 'un?
