Yeah, I'd really PMSL if I was trying to make a living and some turkey ripped me off big style.
This is a big problem... And it isn't going away in a hurry.
Dpreview.com has had troubles too, as have many many others.

It's not possible to govern it - trying to govern the 'look and feel' of websites would end up killing the design freedom of the web. Imagine if the same was done for books or magazines?
If you've written/designed a decent site, surely you can obfuscate the code so it's not stealable?

Mark, what they've done is taken the graphics verbatim, not merely copy the look and feel! The news feed is also the same, the car database is also the same!
In Phil (DPReview's) case, people have taken his reviews, pictures, everything and passed them off as their own work.
There is no way of obfuscating this.

But what happens when they're in China/wherever? It all gets impossible and realistically there's 'k all you can do! I personally wouldn't try to out DoS these chaps, as I'm willing to bet that they've got less to lose.

Absolutely.
You need to understand intellectual copyright laws, which in my opinion, are not enforced strongly enough in the UK. Client side scripting is open source code, so there is always risk of someone borrowing it. But when design is blatantly copied, then somebody somewhere is losing out.
