OSX question on screen resolution restrictions
On my macbook 12" Windows 10 can be set to 2304x1440 scaled at 125% and the screen looks great. In OSX the highest resolution it allows is 1440x900. Why? Why do Apple limit the resolution so badly in OSX when the hardware is capable of a far higher resolution?

More to the point why are you running Windows 10 on a Mac? isn't that a crime punishable by death and humiliation? I am sure JackClark is out already rounding up a lynching posse.

Windows runs superbly under bootcamp and as the resolution settings show you get far more choice over your own setup. I much prefer ms office in Windows and doing productivity stuff but use OSX for media and long battery life and web browsing. Best of both Worlds where I get to choose how my laptop runs and looks.
I'm now using something called disablemonitor which is off github and allows you to choose the resolution in OSX however it still doesn't look anywhere as good as Windows 10 on this hardware.
