Default Apple iDoorstop

Our iPad4 has become unusable, it's suffering from the iCloud login popup error and basically the constant login popup every few seconds means it's completely unusable. The login screen doesn't recognize our Apple password.

It's only ever been used as a web browser, there's a handful of small apps, and no games, music, video or photos.

It's always been updated as required, and we've never even setup an I Cloud account.

I've searched online and as far as I can see it's an issue with ios7 and there's no fix as yet, just lots of disgruntled owners.

Can't even do a restore because it won't let me disable the 'find my ipad' feature..

Am I going to have to take it to the Apple shop to get some Apple worshipping pony tailed social dropout and have them condescendingly tell me how it needs to be their geniuses that sort it.

I don't believe I've ever owned a bit of tech that I haven't been able to fix myself.

Never been an Apple fan, but do acknowledge the Ipad is the best tablet device - but I'm quickly losing patience with it.

you may have just had the same issue as me. Popped over to Paris on wednesday and all of a sudden my iCloud account (which is tied into my apple ID) suddenly stopped working. Just come back home now and spoke to apple support and it seems my Apple iD password needs resetting. **** ! so have to wait 24 hours for it to be unlocked.

Cant tell if it is someone trying to access my Apple ID or just a technical issue.

Yes -assuming you mean the combined power/home button reset - don't think there's anything else I can do that gives a more thorough reset - is there?

as I mentioned before log onto apple.com/uk and support. Contact them re Apple ID reset and this may solve the problem. remember Apple ID is tied into everything, iTunes, App store, iCloud (whether you use it or not as it is used by the Find My Iphone and reset feature)

Just a thought and may save you going to an apple store

Give them your telephone number and they will call you

I mean a factory reset and just set it up as a new ipad and see what happens.

My iPad has been crashing in the last 2/3 days
2 days ago got an email from " apple to say someone had tried to accesss my account but it was ok now so ignored

Today got another email to reset my password for apple user !
Clicked on the link as it was headed apple . Com
And typed in ID then password then clicked the link
Then read it

Name
Adress
Postcode
Dob
Mothers maiden name !!
Then sort code ( I've never given that for apple
Credit card number ( in the past I've inputted just the last four digits when my card expired but this didn't seem right although apple header top and bottom l

Logged off and rang apple who checked my account was ok but had to put a new password in and reset it
She confirmed it was a new phishing account in the last two days and would catch people out
Looks like the scammers are aware if this problem with crashing and are trying to get bank details from people

Why would you log into an account from an email that diverts you even if it looks official?

You always open up your own page, I have had problems in the past with apple but they tell you thru your device that there is possible hacking issues and let you change the password in the app store.

I changed mine to numbers and letters and have never had any issues since.

That's mine sorted, spent 40 minutes on the phone to apple support (thanks tony) had the call escalated 3 times as they couldn't sort it, ended up with the support manager and we managed to turn off the 'find my iPad' option via a laptop on iCloud.com. Once we'd done that I could restore via iTunes. None of the support folks could explain why it happened in the first place though...

The iPad has a stay of execution for the meantime...

Sort of, they couldn't work out why the iCloud login popup had just appeared all of a sudden, and the only solution they could think of to try to sort it was a factory reset - once we found a way to turn off the find my iPad feature.
