This morning I faced all 4 doors being iced up solid.
I eventually freed the drivers door with a hairdrier.
Can anyone recommend a tip to stop it happening?

I think if you vaseline the rubber (missus ) then it helps stop it freezing up

put a little bit of polish on the rubber surrounding the doors using autoglym or similar.. or build a garage

The vaseline is good but eventually it will perish rubber door seals

Apparently Halfords do a non-petroleum based compund especially for this... (or so someone said when I posted exactly the same thing last year )

Cheers

I spray (and then rub in with a cloth) Halfords silicone door seal spray once a year - keeps the rubber supple and prevents water soaking into the surface - so it doesn't freeze.

Also helps stop the wind noise you tend to get from frameless windows at high speeds...

Rich.

Someone here suggested pi$$ing on the door, but I'd feel a bit of an exhibitionist standing on the roof taking a slash.

Halfords silcone rubber spray in the Yellow can, made for the job and works very well.

Thumbs up

If it's not too bad you can run your finger round the edge of the window to crack off the ice seal by pushing the rubber strip back a little - that might help.
