I changed the PIN when the fob started acting, so yes. I can turn off the alarm when it goes off, bit I dont think I can start the car.

I have tried changing battery in the sigma fob, tried 3 new ones. Is it for sure CR2016 3V battery? What about the battery inside the key itself? Should I chenge it aswell?

My main problem is the key fob works VERY inconsistently.

A 2005 UK WRX fitted with the OEM Sigma alarm "should" just have the keys (single button type not 2 button type) which would normally operate the keyless entry system and alarm.
If you also have a Sigma fob, then the key/s maybe playing up and it's being used as a replacement.

Not sure on battery size as I haven't used/seen a fob for many years.
Keys/fobs can be re-programmed to the car.

If no working Radio key/fob
To reprogram the fobs, you need to enter your 4 digit pin code to arm the system, Then enter the 4 digit pin code again to deactive the system
Then enter the following sequence.
*17856*91*2# then press each fob to be programmed once. the alarm should chirp after each fob press to indicate it has learnt. the number 2 represents the amount of fobs to be programmed so if you only had one fob then change the 2 to a 1

If you have a working Radio key/fob
  1. Arm and then Disarm the system using the working Radio Key.
  2. Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad- *17856*91*2# where 2 is total number of radio keys to work the system
  3. Briefly press both radio keys in turn (the dash board LED will flash each time and the siren will bleep) Any radio keys not programmed here will no-longer operate the system.
  4. You should now be able to arm and disarm the system using all the radio keys programmed.

Wait, so all I need is the black key? Because previous owner always used the sigma fob, so did I. I dont get this system at all. Very confusing. I have both the key and the sigma fob as on the picture above. Can I program/pair the black key with the console aswell?

Programming sigma fob didnt help and battery in the black key is dead or the thing is broken. I'll get new battery soon.

Today I traveled to a different city and was trying to unlock the car for 10 minutes, very frustrating. But when I got back home, I was able to lock and unlock it over and over again.

I changed battery, cleaned a green residue inside the key, then paired it with system/console using above code and it works. Fob is broken, works once every 100 presses. Thanks for your help.
