Car won't start, How to replace a Sigma keypad
So Impreza won't start. Has been playing up for a while, when trying to disarm the immobilizer. Thought it might be fobs, so changed batties a few times then seems to work fine. Now stopped and no fob will work with new batteries. Can you get the immobilizer bypassed?

Better late than never I have arrived.
To reprogram the fobs, you need to enter your 4 digit pin code to arm the system, Then enter the 4 digit pin code again to deactive the system
Then enter the following sequence.
*17856*91*2# then press each fob to be programmed once. the alarm should chirp after each fob press to indicate it has learnt. the number 2 represents the amount of fobs to be programmed so if you only had one fob then change the 2 to a 1

*17856*91*2 Is the specific instruction code for the action you are wanting to perform - in this instance setting fobs
here is another similar instruction that id used previously when i had my classic years ago to reset the PIN as i didnt know mine. youll notice it also uses 17856 and then 92 is the specific instruction code
A.Using a working Radio Key:
- Arm and then Disarm the system using a working Key fob.
- Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad- *17856*92*wxyz*wxyz# (where wxyz is your new PIN code)
- Arm the system with the key fob
- You should now be able to disarm the system using the new PIN code

Cheers Rob, tried it today again as didn't work with one fob, so tried it with a brand new fob and a used one and has now coded the new fob in but not the other used fob, so will try again later.

So strange thing, but bought new fob, can code only one fob into the system? Followed all instructions and coded one fob fine but second fob doesn't code, tried multiple times always codes the first key but not the 2nd. Do I need to press something in between?

thanks for any help I appreciate it.

Straight swap mate, I wished I'd upgraded to the later key pad, but if memory serves me well, it had different connection.
But best to just swap pads over, not whole cable as buried into the dash.

Have you maybe got to many keys programmed in ? A remember when adding keys the manual said something like up to 4 at a time ? Maybe ur at the limit need to wipe it start again ,am sure it flashes to tell you how many keys are on the system
