Default Key/alarm button problem

Hi everyone,

I've got a problem with my key in that the remote button is becoming very difficult to use now. I only have 1 key for the car (as is usually the case), an 03 WRX which has the sigma m30 alarm, with the single button Subaru key that activates the alarm and locks the doors etc. The rubber on the button has perished (through overuse I would guess) and looking inside it, I think its on its last legs. I have been led to believe that a replacement key from Subaru is in the region of 160-200 quid which is not ridiculous, but its getting there.

What I wondered was, when I searched on google for the sigma m30, there are loads of actual fobs (usually on ebay) which attach to your key ring, so could I get one of these for 20 quid and just reprogram it (I know my code) or is that not going to work?

cheers chaps (and chappesses) (and apologies if this has been asked before, many many times)

Should work just fine, just follow the reprogramming steps
and you should be good to go.
