New UK Subaru Sti - Due April/May
#421
my dealer has told me nothing about anything!! my car is due on 1st May!
no options at all, i'm guessing all these 'options' will be fitted at the UK dealers once the car arrives
it good to see Subaru have been working on the emissions C02 of 242 now, so its only in the L tax bracket
also the USA model has 305bhp, they have terrible quality fuel, we have 98 ron fuel and the UK car is only tuned to 300bhp

Stereo looks weird is it standard hole or specific to car, just make sure or that will be costly to change to sat nav after
Wonder what up they have done to make it better co2

A45- 161 g/km 40.9 mpg
New STi 242 g/km 27.2 mpg
That's a 0.2 drop in mpg and 2 g/km drop in CO2 over my old Spec D.
Welcome to the new green world. That'll be £475 per year road fund licence after the £840 first year rate for the STi.
If it's not the permanent 4WD that gobbles fuel then is it the boxer configuration that prevents any major improvement in fuel efficiency and emissions?

It's looking like the only changes to the mechanicals are the front struts over the MY11! 💤💤 Back to inverted strutswith all the problems of knocking. Oh and a quicker rack for the twisty bits.

Here's an interesting US road test against the Merc and BM
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...social20501174
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...social20501174
Especially as the STi was the fastest around the track despite being the lowest powered car. Wonder how far ahead it'd be with a 320/340 pack?
Seems like a trend of common comments regarding the A45 - understeer (Fifth gear hated it for that reason also), and the gear box (A45 owners complaining and chasing updates for it etc)
Also of interest was the fuel figures - both the BMW and A45 gave optimistic government figures, but in the real world were very similar to each of the other cars. Notably the STi actually had better real world figures than gov numbers. I posted earlier in this thread that I believe the bigger manufacturers are better at manipulating the numbers, but in the real world are no different. The numbers in the test go some way to confirm this.
Still the fastest pound for pound then.

The permanent AWD will be a hinderance on the gov figures which are done on a rolling road AFAIK. The Golf will run FWD during this, and believe the A45 is the same. I know the A45 can only put 50% of its power to the rear so assume that it only does this when it has to.

Well, I'm NOT getting the new Subaru anymore. I have cancelled the car, so for now I'll be sticking with my Focus RS.
If I'm honest, the negative comments on here just broke me down.

I phoned my dealer on Friday and he won't have any info for a while, car is due 22nd May he said, but they always arrive early. He won't have any finance packages till after a meeting next week with Subaru,s financing company. He did say the £28,995 was the on the road price that includes the £840 first years road tax
He said he will phone me when the car arrives in May!

the ones on here who have knackard there 2.5 is because they turned up the power without supporting mods
