Opinionated as a result of experiences and owner feedback. I loved the time spent in my four cars between 2003 - 2012. The fact is though they are nothing like the brand they were.
Remember the feedback helps a new op make more of an educated decision. If we all sat back saying everything was fantastic, we really would be ********. All is not well and it hasn't been for a number of years.
They have been (and can be) great cars but they have missed so many chances to move on. Others have.

How many of us went out in a morning and started it up to be presented by smoke, I bet a few of us did, you then panic and try figure out what it was. mainly its oil lying in the bores due to the way the engine sits, but it does make you think ring land.
Im sure Hulk will love the car like we did, and overtime im sure hell make he own decision on super unleaded Tax and insurance. Once the novelty wears off and it becomes just a car, these things start to grind, well they did me.
Check the Oil
Don't have any after market remaps
super unleaded only
Don't hit the Limiter ( Lower the gear change beep )

Its definitely not true any more, the competition has pushed ahead.
To the OP, good luck with your new Subaru, I'm sure you can't wait.
I remember having that feeling back in 1999 when I had test driven this rocket ship that accelerated like nothing I'd ever felt before.

New Evo will have around 400bhp apparently but rumour is that it may be tweaked to 430-odd.

The seats sound like the ones in the pictures, sports seats with red stitching and red leather accents. Keyless entry and keyless start, privacy rear glass, large rear spoiler, flat-bottomed steering wheel and 7 inch multi function display.
Sat Nav & full leather interior are optional.

Back to getting worn side bolsters then. Now I know why it is cheaper than the MY11. No SAT NAV to. Hopefully as time goes by there will be some deals like the 320R.

Any news when subaru will get GMFV for the new STI? My dealer is saying May but would like to know so i could have accurate monthly payments. Surely if the new STI goes on sale may the 1st they should have details before then? Looking at putting down £2500-£3000.

1st cars are due to land in mid-May, but there are no blue ones left, unless you know a dealer who has snaffled a load of them.

I love my Subaru's but this car does not excite me (well the EU one anyway) and neither does IM inspire confidence in their support of the marque, and this has been going on for a number of years now, really since the introduction of the 2.5's and the issues they have.
Subaru have not really moved on in 12 years, so why?
12 years ago Subaru Japan gave us the S202, the most powerful out of the box car that they produced, and they have not produced a factory car that has a quoted power figure higher than this since, this is disappointing, back in those days you could get 200bhp hot hatches which were not a match for the STI, now that's out of the window, there are better handling cars out there with less power and smaller engines, lower tax brackets, FAR better fuel economy, safer, cheaper to insure, less to service, higher residuals (the 2.5's don't hold their money because of the engine issues) and basically they have been caught and passed my the mass market, and that's depressing as a Subaru enthusiast because if I wanted a new car then I want at least some of the engine technology that went into those cars 13-14 years ago, not a known issue engine, which as yet still seems to have the outdated 2.5 "troubled" engine, unknown if it still has the same chocolate pistons that struggle with over 300bhp and dodgy head gaskets.
If it does then the market will just die in the UK, no one will want them, a lot of owners who understand the 2.5's will be very cautious about purchasing one, even with a 3 year warranty as we have seen claims rejected because the car went within 500rpm of the red line or accidentally hit the red line once, hence why they have a limiter there.
The risk of buying this new model without the new engine is.... well high and people wont touch it if they have already been burnt once by this.

Already ordered a blue one but my dealer says they have no future values yet so can't give me exact monthly payments just an estimate. What future values are you giving after 4yr PCP?

Any one know what options are available yet. My dealer hasn't been told anything. He is not aware of leather or sat nav being an option and definitely no power upgrades available yet. Interestingly, though IM are pitching it against the Golf R.

Sat Nav is a £1,000 option. Full leather interior is £1000 - £1200, and 340 upgrade is £1669 + fitting (approx 2 hours).

Sounds like the 340R is the same pro-r upgrade as before interested if the exhaust is the same as I would swap it of my current car.

Annoys me this, it's how it was when I bought mine in 2010, you've placed ya order and now they release extras, I presume the 340r will be the same as the old one...
Come on Subaru pull ya finger out and try something new FFs
Wonder what sat nav is.... 1000 quid gets you a lot of aftermarket stereo and by the looks it's just that. I'd sack that option and stuff a pioneer in the hole when u get it

my dealer has told me nothing about anything!! my car is due on 1st May!
no options at all, i'm guessing all these 'options' will be fitted at the UK dealers once the car arrives
it good to see Subaru have been working on the emissions C02 of 242 now, so its only in the L tax bracket
also the USA model has 305bhp, they have terrible quality fuel, we have 98 ron fuel and the UK car is only tuned to 300bhp
