If the above works these are the badly designed mirror stalks in cheap black plastic probably the worse bit of the car in my mind but hopefully can be replaced.

These are the fog light surrounds which I never liked when they first came out but hopefully by the threads above someone is already looking at a replacement part. They are as bad as they look!

It's difficult to see from this picture the two different patterns on the front grille sorry I couldn't get a better shot. To be fair it isn't noticeable and I'm sure there will be grille replacements.

This isn't the large screen stereo I have seen on the official website. Apparently Pioneer haven't even started to look at an alternative option yet.

Again difficult to get a decent picture but was impressed with the rear looks much better in reality and don't mind the big spoiler it actually sits quite well.

The cills are pretty big sure people will catch their heels on them but look really good and give an aggressive feel.

In conclusion apart from the mpg, tax, super unleaded etc the car looks very good except for the cheap black plastic parts they have used. Disappointed with the stereo too particularly as I'm sure this isn't what is shown on the website but need to check.

I stand corrected it COULD be the stereo shown on the small interior pick. Obviously I have been confused by all the different worldwide model images flying around and lack of confirmed uk information / specification. I am in an unusual position and may end up owning one depending on events this week but it is a bizarre situation!

That's not too difficult to guess given my location and should add very nice people to deal with. They have serviced my Subarus for the last 9 years.

We don't have many dealers left around here and this was 130 mile round trip just to be nosy

Near Bideford, there are shorter ways but it is always quicker to go down the A30 and then A38. Compared to an RS3 the quality is poor as is the gadget spec but they were £10k more. Compared to the Golf R they are probably on a level price and gadget wise but the Golf is probably better finished and returns a better mpg for less tax. Proof will be in the sales I guess. I have been told three different stories by three different dealers with regard to availability so it is very confusing. Ashburton have sold over 10 which is good for them based on previous sales of Sti's

The golf though is like every other golf in a away at least these will be rare in spotting one, no one looks at every golf to see if it is an 'r' if that makes sense?

True, but it is an awful lot of money, for what is essentially nothing special...

It might get some looks, but it looks tacky and cheap, if the price tag reflected this, then I would probably be interested, but they still want top money for it!

Golf lol

My gran drives a golf, sure it will have a R badge, but there are far too many on the roads, me myself HATE when I see someone wearing the same tshirt as me, the golf would be just like that

I love different and the Scoob certainly is that

I'll let you know it's based on figures and a strange situation resulting in necessity rather than choice

Should know later this week.

Just buy one. Do it. Do it. Do it.

Would it be that actual blue one in the pics?

I've just chosen my 14 reg today for mine (although my private plate will be getting transferred onto it ASAP after taking delivery)

Going to stick with the MY11 320R for now having seen the pics and wait for upgrades to be made available. Definitely not going down in power having just had a blast around Snowdonia. 300 miles on 16 gallons of V-Power.
My bright flitter wheels are the same colour as the new ones with all the brake dust which would save on cleaning but by the looks of the the horse shoes they will hate curbs.

@normanthedog
Be careful of the sills, shoe heels mare them very easily - well that was my experience of the 330S sills which are pretty much the same design

Please don't take my advice on this one,but I once ran in a new blob wrx and did everything by the book ie keeping below a set amount of revs and so on. But when I sent the car in for a service and had a courtesy car that was same age/spec/ and had only done a few thousand. I gave the car a bit of a hard time as is the law with courtesy cars and was a little surprised when I realised that it seemed a bit quicker and a bit sharper. The guy back a the garage told me that it was because it gets a hard time and that it some how frees the engine up. If I was to get a new car again then I would still take it easy ,but maybe not quite as easy as I once would have.

Usually keep below 4000rpm for first 1000miles with plenty of load variation.............use the gears
