Where I have a JDM STI Spec-C, With an exhaust and 3 port and remap is 360bhp/380lbft and 0-60 is probably 4 seconds if I launched it, Will and has embarrassed a lot of expensive cars, There are a lot of different variations of the same car with a massive difference in handling and power delivery
Totally agree, I have a 8MR over 400/400 which does he same
Anyone car own a fast car but if they can't drive it, its no good.

Wow, I'm very impressed by the fact that the only car in the list that can beat my humble Blob to 60mph is the mighty Audi RS4.
Just shows what fantastic value for money these cars are, and that's before any mod's, £300 remap and i'd be all over one like a rash, and even without i doubt there would be much in it on a twisty back road.

Yep, i keep trying to tell people that the Blob Wrx PPP is a quicker car than a standard STI and a PPP STI too, and that's only half the story, with the faster spool of the TD 04 and it makes peak torque a lot sooner too, as well as being lighter and having longer gears, so in actual real world driving hands out a fair few a$$ whoopings.
And in Wagon form it's a proper little street sleeper.

A blobeye wrx ppp is quicker to 60 than a blobeye STI ppp simply due to the fact that it can reach 60 in 2nd gear whereas the STI has to change to 3rd. After that the extra 40 horses or so show on the STI.
But £ for £ you can't argue with a WRX PPP. I love mine!!

Through the twistys the clio 200 although being the slowest and least powerful on this list will, in my opinion will show the majority of the list how to carry on!

What you poor Turbo 2000 drivers needs to do is buy a Subaru Legacy Twin Turbo then go play with the big boys and pee on UK Turbos whilst you are at it lol.

The STI is only quicker after 80mph + and due to the gearing not so good for the twisty bits as your up and down the box like a yo yo, then the longer gears on the WRX complimented by the faster spool of the turbo, will hand the STI it's a$$ in the real world.
It's not about the top end when making progress down bumpy country lanes, suspension compliance, brakes (mine has AP 4 pots ) and mid range 30mph to 80 mph is key, STI's are twitchy and harsh on crappy UK roads, great for track with coilovers, just like my STI Type r can be a bit of a hand full on the road, plenty of pot hole dodging and twitching about on uneven damp surfaces.
Horses for courses, you don't take a thoroughbred race horse cross country hunting.

Quite simply, if yo own a classic anyway, such as I LOL, we live on the reputation the car has, everyone wants a go as the scoob (apart from the cossie, but not many on the roads) is the pinicle of cars to beat, so enjoy the Rep they have and dont try to beat modern cars

Not quite that simple, it's lighter and the turbo spools faster.

My Hawkeye STi was a total dog on standard shocks.... Over damped, under sprung and **** bumpstops always interfering. The coilovers have transformed it over rough Manx roads utterly. I do need softer springs with the Winter Tyres setup, note to self next October, but otherwise on the O.E. RE070 it works just perfectly.
Even later Newages had issues, rear shocks knocking, and harshness from too much anti dive/squat at the front and understeer.
I was over in Peterborough last weekend and the roads were really greasy- oh what fun it was! Times like that really bring home the joys of owning a Subaru.
Then I had to put fuel in........

Kezwaldo, just be content with the amount of car you have for the amount of money you spent, and enjoy the ownership, driving it and modifying/improving it - ultimately that's what we're all trying to do with our Imprezas.
It isn't always about being faster than someone else on the road. If you really want to outpace newer rivals, then focus your enjoyment on choosing and fitting your upgrades and make a project of it.

92-94 WRX had 240 ps or 236 bhp
94-96 WRX had 260 ps or 256 bhp
96-00 WRX had 280 ps or 276 bhp
Hope this clarifies

Your biased, and your STI is modified, we're talking Standard STI v's Blob WRX PPP and the numbers speak for themselves.
So your seriously trying to tell me that a car that is 0.5 seconds slower to 60mph, and needs to be in 3rd gear to get there is faster than a car that can do it in second gear.
Have you looked at the graph and figures for a PPP BLOB WRX
The STI is quicker to 100mph but in reality that does not translate to a faster car in the real world where spool, gearing and handling are king.
The Standard STI is a good car but it's not all it's cracked up to be when it comes to making progress on bumpy back roads, modified it's a different story, and i understand your reluctance to admit that it may be slower in the real world, due to poor gearing and harsh suspension, especially since you paid a premium for one, but as previously stated THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
