Ok that's a rally prepared group N car but it gives you an idea.
Gives me an idea of what ???
Thats not a spec c, do a search on google. A standard c weighs alot more than 1310kg.

My Spec-c Limited is booked at 1370kg, comes with aircon, elecy windows, central locking but had it on a weigh bridge with quarter of a tank of fuel and about 3lt in the water tank, No spare or tools and it came in at 1335kg and I have a 7" DVD and 5 gauges in the car too, Like I said jay it's all the small things, lightness, steering, different front arms, seam welded struts, different springs, better turbo, better cooling...

UK blob Sti is 1470kg

Gaz.
There is only one way to settle this gaz, book a track day with me as second driver...

I cannot find the best exact brochure at present but I will look further if you wish, I've previously found info that backs up Tony's post.

https://www.scoobynet.com/showpost.p...44&postcount=3

And I never stated that a standard Spec C was 1310 kgs, I posted that my Spec C model in standard trim had a kerb weight of 1310 kgs.

If the figures are true 135kg is a hell of a lot.

kerb weights are taken with a full tank of fuel in, 1370kg is still quite heavy really

Is yours a modded motorsport edition then H?
Forgot to mention the bonus passenger sun visor

Tubbs, If you think that 1370kg is heavy what does that make the UK @1470kg?

And doesn't the spec C have a smaller tank than the STi? 10 L smaller IIRC.

Its all very nice having a light car but for me it depends on where the weight saving came from and how a car carry's its weight.
Saving weight at the expense of crash protection and rust proofing is not the type of weight saving for me. And what's with the passenger sun visor delete lol. The phone in my pocket weights more.
1450-1495 is not heavy for a modern car, especially one that exceeded the eurocap 5* safety protection.

Matty,

Spec C weights do increase somewhat, but not much considering the improvements/legislation.

The 1310Kg is the weight for the MY01 Type RA Spec C 17". The MY01 Type RA Spec C 16" is 1290Kg.

The MY05 Spec C Type RA is 1390Kg.

HTH

No bud

There are three variants (motorsport, non limited and limited)

Mine is a non limited 17" (same as a limited but lighter, no electrics) also has blue sti seats not black, still comes with brembos, coolers etc etc. They only came with white paintwork and are fairly rare

9 of the last 11 pages are irrelevant to the OP's thread. Well that's 10 mins off my life that I'll never get back again.

100kg is 100 bags of sugar. Whack that in your boot and tell me it doesn't effect the handling. If the weight loss has been done in a way to compliment the handling then it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn a Spec C would handle differently/better to a std STI. Saving 100kg is no mean feat.
Maybe it was saved and balanced the weight distribution more evenly?

yes and you can remove a fair few kgs in the same way that it has been done on the spec c.

i.e. the front cross member and if you have a fmic fitted most have removed the bumper bar.

it was just more suprised that the spec c was so heavy tbh

Tubbs, I've got a brand new Spec C bumper bar if you want to save some weight.

It'll save you having to cut back on the McDonald's, it's substantially lighter than the standard factory item.
