They apparently could only get 3-4 cars through the Cosworth factory a month.

So i asked the question and then locked myself in a cupboard.
Time alone in the dark is whats needed to think this through.
To clarify had 330s - loved it - but lost it to tax man
But things change and i heard some 'new' Cosworth still available
And dealing at ~40k
The wife suggested i stayed in the cupboard - but overall 'keen' - as long as name on insurance???!!!!
I went and looked at alternatives
I read the reviews, the comments, the thread
And in the end...
I had to have one
Deposit down
Coming after holidays
It will be loved, cherished
And
It's bonkers and mad
It's a car with '*****'

650 miles and counting.....1 week until the service is book in. Only problems are I was told to use the gears when breaking (i.e. not to just hit the breaks), which I have been doing as suggested, but I had to use "just the breaks" when a fox decided to play chicken with me the other night, and they were not very responsive. It was a good job I was driving like"miss daisy"

Had the second fill up and squeezed 52 litres in after driving with the light on for 30 plus miles, but it suggests they have a 60 litre tank?

Brake disc covers?? Maybe that explains the above....what are these?

Other than that, have had a few Squirts up to 4k and am so looking forward to when the beast is realised! Had a few people ask about the Cosworth, but it is so stealth what I mean is un recognised), compared to previous scoobys I have owned.

Mine peed petrol everywhere on 1st fill up,Cosworth upgraded the pump but refitted the gasket incorrectly. The brake disc covers rub a little until modified(bent) as they werent upgraded with the larger brakes. And yes your correct ,nobody knows what it is.
Im up on 1200 miles now.

Hey Jim.

Just read through the thread and your profile and realised who you are. I live on Kentwood hill and drive the silver blob wrx. I was telling my mate last week that I had seen you in a wr1 a few weeks back after not seeing your hawk around for a while.

Hope you're enjoying the cs400, you'll have to come along to one of our Sunday meets and give us a look at her

Ran mine very close to empty today (or at least the guage was below the bottom notch) and only sqeezed in just over 53 litres. Not sure what size the tank is but I dont think its 60.

Mine is a 2.0 JDM Spec c they tend to have smaller tanks perhaps mine is different to yours as it doesn't guzzel as much petrol as a 2.5.

the impreza hatch is hardly a looker is it? but agreed the lancer isnt a looker either but no worse.
anyway its a lancer ralliart 4wd,turbocharged and dsg gearbox.
i looked at an impreza hatch but the interior and extras are far better on the ralliart.
it has one of the best oem stereos i have ever seen, sat nav, phone and 40 gb hard disc so no need for ipods or cds.

also has excellent leather seats and far better interior.

it is only 250bhp so its not as powerfull but i still have my sti impreza and will never sell it.

0-60 in 5.4 secs and 150ish mph top speed so more than enough for a family car to cart kids and shopping around which is what it was purchased for.

I see where your coming from Tommy but i wouldn't place your Lancer hatch in the same league as an R205. Not just BHP, but the suspension, brakes and out right capabilty is far better in the STi Hatch.

It's personal choice really, i personally prefer the interior and exterior styling of the STi Hatch but as a daily hack i ain't knocking your Mitsi.
