which tyres are the best

I stated a simple fact - read the ****ing stickies in the forum that say to use the search - it's not rocket science (even for someone of limited mental capacity).
It spoils it for anyone who can be bothered to use the search in future, because all they get returned are hundreds of results for one post threads saying "what tyres should I buy".
For example an almost exact same conversation has had here many moons ago (by me in fact!):

Guys, sorry to have a bit of a rant, but this same question has been done to death on here. Just use the search, there are literally hundreds of posts asking the same thing, and the answers are ALWAYS the same!
You'll get some good insight if you look at a few.
Thanks

In the nicest possible manner, why don't you **** off pal?

And what a sterling example too, a two year old post with test results and prices from 4 years ago. No mention of any of the modern contenders such as the Uniroyal Rainsport 2 (good or bad). If you draw a line in the sand the forum will die.
If you have nothing positive to contribute to the forum then do everyone a favour and don't contribute at all. As mentioned before Get a Life

Oh wow! so you are so important you can ask the same question you are moaning about, without anyone moaning at you, good for you.

Whilst Steve's points are valid, there's only a point if you guys end up discussing the new ones.
If you don't know any why don't you refer the OP to a decent conversation with balanced arguments.
And guess what, I bet you could find a recent one using the search LMAO.
I await your doubtless sarcastic reply.
Meanwhile, I'll have a look for the OP later for some helpful comments seeing that nobody has told you about the downside of Toyo T1R's.

Who's on a soap box, and rude with it?

Posted by a helpful member with actual experience of said tyre. Recent enough for you, or didn't you do a search before posting the challenge?
I think you will find that the op already has a set of these, if you had read the original post instead of going into rant mode. Think he was looking for comparisons and recomendations before forking out a chunk of money on replacements.
I await your doubtless rude reply

I fitted Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas to my 450 bhp hawkeye and when they were new I loved them . However , now they are half worn they are sliding all over the road in the wet .

I had very good results with Falken ze912 on a classic, was going to go for 452's but decided to try these, I was very pleasantly suprised, also going through a massive puddle unexpectedly, didnt feel a thing.
Now I have a bug with Toyo t1r's and I hate them with a passion.
Will trying Michelin Pilot sport 3 next.
But just wondering what are the best tryres ever (money no object)?

I haven't noticed my Vreddies letting up like my Eagle F1's did, but then I don't have 450bhp to play with!
However, I can definitely say that my 328bhp bug sticks to the road better with the Sessantas than it did at 250bhp on Eagle F1's.
I think once you get into the 400's you might need something a bit more special!
I hear very good things about Pilotsports.
Uniroyal Rainsports are apparently still too new for anyone to offer an opinion.
Toyos - don't bother, unless you have R888's in the dry
Goodyear Eagles - ok but overpriced for what they are in my experience.
Falken 452's - people seem to think these are ok as a budget tyre but a couple of the guys in my local Scoob club said they wouldn't take them on track as they're not good enough.
Hope that helps.

Errr - that would have been you - hence my pointing it out
Now who needs to get a life? It was a simple statement that you should use the search, and an illustration of what you can find if you look.
Not a very balanced view in the link above, but yes that IS the idea - well done, big pat on the back for you
Also, try these:
https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...available.html
https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...se-people.html
https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...ent-tyres.html
Whilst they might not be the newest threads on earth I suspect you'll find that tyre technology hasn't moved on that much since a lot of these posts and most of these brands are still available.
Hope they will be of some assistance.
Perhaps you should revisit the thread yourself if you think you're the victim here, you weren't exactly polite to me now were you?
Pot kettle perhaps?
Anyway, apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread but I hope some of the links above will help you make an informed decision.
Apologies if I came across a bit strong to ya initially about using the search but hopefully some of the above will illustrate what you can find - there really are some gems on here.
Also, haven't looked but have you tried Scoobypedia?

Apology accepted And my apologies to the OP too. It's what makes this forum so good
So you noticed the F1's give up early too, I wasn't just imagining it then?
Hearing good things about the Rainsports on the ClioSport forums and the...ahem...Fiesta forums so may give them a go when my current set of F1's start to slide too much

I've tried F1's on 4 different scoob's. They're OK.
T1R's on a big BHP new Age, and a big'ish bhp classic. Pretty poor.
452's. Better than the two above
AD08's blow all the above
Only tried 888's on a bike powered kit car. Can't really rate them. Once track hot they turn to jelly.
I have it on blood reputation the Pilot Sports are very good, although not tried

GSD1,2,3, AS1, AS2, some of them have a poor wear rate, and they certainly aren't a mid budget tyre like the 452's, which are average at best. The Current As2's are rated by many testers as one of the Best UHP tyre on the market, along with the PS3's and Conti Sport Contact 5's. They are running them on 1500-2000kg cars with no issues, but some here say the sidewalls are too soft for a 1300kg Scoob..
I have also used Toyo 888's on my BEC Kitcar, but they don't melt if you get the tyre pressures right.
Tried Falken 912's which are great on a light car (modded 205 GTi with a GTI6 and Plate Diff),
but not so good on heavier performance cars IMHO and only average in the wet.
Currently running Avon ZV5's which many slag off, but they have been amazing on my 17 inch rims, in the wet they haven't let go once in anyway when doing high speed roundabout circuits, I failed to even induce any Lift off oversteer at speeds that were getting quite dangerous for the wet tbh.
T1R's again a good budget tyre, but not as good as T1 Sports, and IMHO not as good as the Falken 452's.
Great thing about tyres is everyone has an opinion, and only other peoples stink
Only thing I can say for sure, is sub 3mm tread all of them suck in the wet

Unless you have experience with an expensive tyre, or a reliable recommendation, it's quite a leap of faith. Although it does seem Michelin's are being increasingly fitted OE to high end motors
For those running the PS's can you share any other tyre experiences you could compare these to...

The tyres that i have used over last few years, bridgestone reo40,s and the 50,s thought both were good, t1r,s were complete crap on my car and didn,t realise how bad until i put original wheels and tyres back on when i sold the car.T1 s were a good improvement over the t1 r even though they were the older model tyre. Running michelin ps 2 at the moment and still bedding them in but very feel really good in the wet and dry. From memory both sets of bridgestones were also very good

Which F1's, how old, and what size, there are many to choose from.

I found all had extremely poor wear rates.
The GSD2's had better grip levels than the 3's in my opinion, but of course they don't make em anymore.
Asymmetrics a little better, but I found all of them slid with very little provocation at higher speed cornering, and yes the sidewalls are far too fragile, even on the supposedly reinforced ones.
In comparison the Vredestein Sessantas don't slide in the same situation, and the wear rates are better.
Also bought Avon ZV's on the ex-missus's car, and found them very good grip-wise, although they do seem to suffer from punctures - not sure whether that was down to the tyre design or just bad luck on our part.
T1R's again a good budget tyre, but not as good as T1 Sports, and IMHO not as good as the Falken 452's.
This is why I've continued with the Sessantas, because they're effectively a good compromise between price and performance - they're good enough for road and track, and don't deteriorate as badly as Toyos or Goodyears at lower grip levels - whilst wearing much better - all in my own experience and personal opinion of course.

TBH based on what I hear, the T1R's are average at best, and you can't really describe them as budget if the Falkens come in about £15 per corner cheaper!

Fair enough on the F1's, I know they wear faster, had assumed this was a softer tyre thing, haven't had the high speed grip issues you have, but that is likely down to differences between cars/sizes.
Haven't had any punctures yet, but noted
Probably havent noted any substantial shotfalls in my tyres yet as I still have 2 pot front brakes

Give me a shout as we stock loads of these and we have tried these against T1-Rs and theyre in a different league yoko's are miles better!!
best wet grip is Goodyear F-1 assymetric 2's but just been superceeded by 3's..
Hope that helps

y'all talk too much when the dude is asking a simple question just tell him your experience then searching these threads would be much easier and avoid this in future
goodyear F1 thought these were dangerous, lasted well and quiet but grip grip gone no warning especially when worn
Toyo T1S good in dry with right pressure (36+) soft but predictable quite different in the wet still ok but the difference can surprise the unwary
heard good things about falken gonna try them next
