R1R's is a softer compound tyre, it's much quieter than T1R's, being softer, it's more grip and it looks good too. Only little bit more expensive. I have R1R's on my classic for 9 months now, previous tyres were T1R's. I like to try out different tyres. Hope you like it too.

bobby, so as you have had t1r and now got r1r what different have you noticed, like i said just looking for 4 good tyres that grip well in wet and dry and hold the corners well.

Like I said , R1R's is better in every aspects( apart from the price), wet and dry,I use my classic daily, the most noticeable is it's so much quiet, strongly recommended.

I used to run Eagle F1's - very good all-round tyre. Now on Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's - very good tyre, better than the old F1 by a long way. But it all depends on budget and likely conditions.

If you have only one set of wheels, then you can only choose one set of tyres at a time, choose one that suit your budget, then try out the others in the future, Iam sure we all have many years to come in driving , even beyond the age of 70s.

As many say...really depends on your budget
I fitted a set of Falken FK 452's last year on my P1 as I did'nt want to shell out silly money for the top brands and I think it's a great tyre for the money.
Also depends on your driving ability, for me the Falkens are perfectly suited to my driving ability and I'll almost always reach the height of my driving ability before the reaching the tyres grip limits....
Good tyre in both the dry and wet...
I paid circa £360 fitted and balanced last year if that helps....
Also had a set of their Zeix 912's on another of my cars and they were great too...

I've run F1s (GSD3s and then Asyms) and I've also run RE050 Bridgestones.
Currently running PZeroes.
They've all been good.
I'm looking at this thread as I was considering T1Rs (so may go for R1Rs). I've got the chance of getting Yokohama V103's fitted cheapish but I'm a bit worried about going that way as they have now been superseded by the V105.
Anyone tried the Yokohamas ?
Currently running PZeroes.

Guys, sorry to have a bit of a rant, but this same question has been done to death on here. Just use the search, there are literally hundreds of posts asking the same thing, and the answers are ALWAYS the same!
You'll get some good insight if you look at a few.
Thanks

Run both Toyos and F1's on the same classic wagon, unmodified suspension and standard 16 inch rims. Preferred the F1's as quieter, more progressive in the wet (no difference in the dry) and lasted much longer. Easily killed the Toyos in 10.000 miles.
Word of warning with the F1's tho, they "go off" before you run out of tread. At about 2mm or so the compound seems harder and gives less grip wet or dry. Did the same on my Porsche too.

My vote goes for the Yokohama AD08
Spanks the T1R (much more direct feel, especially on turn-in, huge grip level and is not running up the (super soft T1R) shoulder), and better than the F1 - 'old' V pattern - which I have tried many times (much better grip level wet & dry, increased feedback etc).
AD08 gives confidence in spades, dry & wet. Huge grip level, easily exploitable and progressive limit, doesn't suddenly let go. In summary - everything you want from a tyre, and complements the Impreza well
