I use a 78% nitrogen mix for the best possible price/benefit compromise!

I had them for about 2 years, great tyres in summer can't beat them. not great when hitting standing water at motorway speeds and very interesring in the snow

Ive only ever had two types of tyers, T1R's and Goodyear F1 AS2's.
The goodyear's are better for my car i reckon. More progressive breakaway, better wet grip, better feel in the dry. I will try the verdi's next i think.

Also depends on your driving ability, for me the Falkens are perfectly suited to my driving ability and I'll almost always reach the height of my driving ability before the reaching the tyres grip limits....

Good tyre in both the dry and wet...

I paid circa £360 fitted and balanced last year if that helps....

Also had a set of their Zeix 912's on another of my cars and they were great too...
This guys got it right.... Agree with both 452 and 912, 452 for fun driving 912 last better, but t1r; didnt think were great

They are very good tyres, on my 3rd set now, downsides are when they get low tread (like any tyre) you will notice the difference with standing water (dont normally have issues with standing water and it rains alot here ), but you can use them on the track, very good tyre for that too, just keep an eye on the wear if you do track them
Crap in the snow, found that out in Jan 04

Just stating a tyre model isn't really all that helpful!

I've tried 3 sets of tyres so far;

Yoko Parada Spec 2s - Excellent dry performance, shockingly bad wet performance. Fun but not practical snow performance. Noisy.

Toyo Proxy T1Rs - Mediocre dry performance, poor wet performance. Average snow performance. Pretty quiet by all means.

Avon ZZ3s - Excellent dry performance (Although they go off after a few miles of intensive hooning), pretty good wet performance. Haven't tried in the Snow yet. Quietest so far.

I looked into them but I just couldn't justify the premium as I drive quite a lot of motorway miles.

michelin pilot exalto PE2. Excellent tyre. Great for cornering. Good wearing too. Sadly they don't do 16" any more and the pilot sports are very expensive. Next I'll try Nokian Z G2 and will report back.

I think the 2 things that really repay are suspension geometry, an uprated rear ARB and good tyres.

Great tyre
I've had no problems in the dry, or when quite wet
However, when the road is a bit damp or greasy then they get "challenging"

My personal favourite is the vredestein ultrac sessanta

Got some Rainsport 2 for the Fiesta as promised. Seem ok on a light car, especially for the money. May give them a go when my Scoob wears it's F1's out (and the spare set in the garage)

I believe due to the weight of the Newage it's vital you go for reinforced / 95 load rating tyres.

I once had some PS2's that were hard to drive on cos they were 92 load rating so the sidewalls were not up to it.

Smug indeed - they didn't test the Advan AD08 though, which is better - I have them on my car

The AD08's? Yes, best tyre I've tried over the years. Super glue sticky

im going to try falken 452s out on my last 5 scoobs iv ran bridgestone potenzas nice all round tyre, toyo t1 r didnt like them at all, avon zz5 not a bad tyre, decent feed back good amounts of grip, ok in the wet, and yoko prada spec 2, now i will never ever own another set of these tyres again, avarage in the dry but in the wet seriously shocking dangerous id say, after nearly loosing the car 3 or 4 times in the wet on seperate occasions, i finally did loose control results were in to a ditch and head on with a tree, one wrote off scooby
