Rich, would it be possible to call down with Simon at a time that suits you both to discuss this.
I'm happy for this to carry on Snet but I'd rather talk between the three of us. I'm sure that most reading this do not know all the facts and they are free to say what they like of me. But I would like this situation resolved so I can move on with my own project.
For those of you who have your opinion, I am talking to Simon about this and have never said no anything which is why its on here for all to see.

Just to clarify, there has been no finger pointing regarding the issues Rich found over the weekend. I cannot I don't think, state what has caused this failure but the pictures tell a story of what is or not there. I don't wish to make anyone look bad in this and hope that the story speaks for itself......What Rich found, is what Rich found............however unpalatable to some. P.S. Yes can meet up no problem

I know Rich and I thank you for the effort you have put in.
The pictures do indeed tell a story one which I'd like to discuss between the three of us. What the outcome will be will be posted on here for those that are interested.
See you soon.

Above, it might be worth getting a full list though and I'll speak to Advanced and see if I can negotiate you a better price for the whole lot.

Ps I wouldn't reuse your oil pump looking at the broken rod and bearings will be shot as well plus the oil modine will be fcuked as well, definitely change the oil and water pumps - reuse Rich D's oil modine if you can but make sure it's 100% ok or it'll lead to problems.

Great advice from Ty. Indeed I had to have my engine rebuilt again, due to a bit of metal swarf being missed when it was cleaned pre-rebuild, the antifriction coating was stripped from the oil pump and it lost oil pressure as a result and failed. New oil pump and modine is a fraction of the cost of a rebuild, so well worth it.
Hopefully Simon and Dylan can come to a satisfying conclusion as I know they are both tidy fella's and want to get to the bottom of it.
