^^ yes you can just undo the allen key headed insert screw and then replace it with gauge, but i would do this first thing in the morning after the fuel pressure has had chance to back off a bit overnight else you will have a little squirt of petrol out of the hole when you remove the blanking screw

I am taking it to a garage tomorrow as I'm going to get something replaced, so I will get it checked there.

Thanks

Should I listen to this or can I keep it in?
Cheers

You will be fine without one mate as the 740's will flow enough for your needs so only get one if you want or can afford it.

Paul&bon

When API had finished setting mine up, they took removed it and used the supplied screw-in brass bung, instead. I suppose the thinking here is that the gauge could fail (do to its many delicate components) and high pressure fuel could leak through it, etc. Not a place where you want to be.

Hi John,i see your point to be fair but personally i haven't heard or seen any failing like that unless it's a cheap monkey gauge of course

Yeah, I know lots of people still leave it in situ, etc. - but thought I'd better mention it (esp. as a respected specialist doesn't practice it).

I can see the potential 'danger' in it - but because lots of people happily run it attached with no issues, I haven't an opinion - good or bad - on it, really.

Nah, my poxy netbook is being really gay all of a sudden. Apologies - it's really annoying.

But I've performed the necessary spring cleaning anyway.
