The rack is off!
I am still struggling with the bolts holding the wishbones to the chassis even with the impact gun I borrowed.
I am thinking that while all the rack etc is off why not get the engine out. Clean the bay up and make it easier in the long run.
Anyone have an engine hoist and stand, please?

That rack looks horrid, and heat will get the bolts out, as different metals expand at different rates so it should crack the rust thats welding them together.

Made a bit more of an effort today to get the engine prepped for removal.
Disconnected all the main parts and even managed to get the turbo shield off without snapping a bolt . Just the drive shafts and the box to disconnect.
Air con disconnected.
Drained the oil and coolant as the modine pipe and hoses, water pump and belts will be changed.
It's cleaner down there than I thought.
