Loads to do.

Been busy for the last week or so with work but managed to get some time in this evening.
Extracted the old ProSpeed gauges ready for the new ones.
Finished off taking the wheel arch liners off and dosed the underside with Waxoyl with Hammerite. Bonnet, lights and bumper came off to, these are now stored in the spare bed room .
So here's some pictures.
Indoors for safe keeping.
A bit of Hammerite/Waxoyl.
Just a few bolts and that bloody starter spigot jobbie.

The big push begins this weekend. Catalunya 172 is coming down to give me a hand (I'll be doing a fair bit of watching) and change the cam belt while the engine is out.
So, if your free Sunday morning and fancy a bacon sarnie gis a shout!

Huge progress today thanks to Lee. With his help (mostly him) we got:-
The engine out.
Clutch off, confirmed it's uprated and in top condition.
New Cambelt fitted with new pulleys and tensioner. Gave the engine a full cycle to ensure no teeth where out. New cam cover as the old one was split.
Hardrace Engine mounts fitted.
New oil pipe from the modine across the bottom of the engine.
Defi Oil pressure and temp sensors fitted.
Spark plugs checked.
Bit of clean up on the engine.
Monster, tea (special Tetley), Pepsi and Bacon butties polished off!
Lee did all the hards stuff like the starter, gear selector spigot thingey (?) and the lift without damaging anything. But I need to buy a small stool because he's a little fella . Good to see Mark and Glen.
So after Lee went home I managed to fit the new steering rack and subframe.
Fitted the TSL Sport cat and cleaned up the rest of the engine bay.
Finished off with a good dose of Hammerite Waxoyl around the aircon radiator and along the inner wings.
Took some advice from Lee and did not bother with the VF 29 as mine is fine. Similarly with the steel Cam pullies, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
So anyone one want a 56K VF29 and steel cam pulleys? The pullies and tensioner have only done 20k, so they will be going soon to.
I can't thank Lee enough, complete star, awesome knowledge of what he's doing and quality conversation. Looking forward to putting it all back together and getting it running.

Cheers Big man. How's your nuts?
Managed to get a few minutes in tonight. Jacked the front up a little more (sorry Lee) so I can get the Alloy arms off and swing some underseal about. It will make it easier to get the Hardrace Gearbox mount in.
Did a bit more cleaning of the bay, but Si, Lee and Kev have no fear.

So, the oily bit's are fitted, clutch aligned, box shoe horned back on in what I thought was record time. Sport cat, belt's and alternator back in and connected. Stripped out the old Prosport Gauges. I need to do a bolt check and I am hoping to start her up before next weekend.
The legend that is "Kitey" did the business again and did some preventative stuff as well, much praise mate .
Dropped a bit of a bollocks after Lee went when I was trying to connect the banjo on the PAS, I crosss threaded it .
HELP! Anyone have the Banjo Unit PAS Bolt and large bolt into the PAS pump.
Or complete PAS tank with bolts, and banjo's for a V5 Classic?
I'll get some pics up after.

UPDATE
Managed to get the banjo bolt off blockhead and just waiting for the other bolt that goes into the PAS Resevoir. Here's the fubar'd bolt.
Dropped some bit's off with Picasso for some paint and ordered some trim edge for the front splitter off the "bay". I am putting most of the engine ancillary bit's back in slowly but the weather is now a bit pooh . Front Hub's paid for and awaiting delivery .
But I may sell the Prodrive Recaro's and get a set of STi Bug or Blobeye seat's instead.

thanks , ill have a look at halfrauds, does it dry like normal hammerite or stay a bit moist like the waxoyl underbody stuff?
Its great as it seeps into the metal and is flexible, but you cannot touch it for 2-3 days after without some gunge on your hands, even after years it will be soft under the suface, which is how it works.
BUT to do any work after its been on, is a nightmare, as you can`t clean it off fully, which makes life interesting to say the least, but it does the job that it says on the tin!!
Same as what I'm using.
