Billet turbos did the business yesterday at the 30-130 event - 1st, 4th, 5th & 9th

30-130 Results

Shame about the Pink cars gearbox as I think Mikee could have gone a little faster.

As the Subaru team lost the Banana and SleeperSy to mechanical and electrical prroblems I managed to take top spot However Duncans 9.3 on a standard position turbo was fantastic

I thought a 22B would be a lot lighter than that?

Sorry to drag the convo back a few stages but would the Billet SC54 be suitable for a 2.1 or would i be looking at alot of lag?

And if so, would a 10% meth mix help the spool be a bit more useable?

Hi,

To recomend the correct turbo I would need to know engine spec and what kind of power you are after, realistic figures please

Cheers

Spec i'd be looking at, as i already have the majority of pieces:
2.1 SCDB
Sti 8 AVCS heads and cams
Hybrid FMIC
Hybrid 3 port boost solenoid/boost controller
3" turbo inlet
3" straight through exhaust system
Ported and heat wrapped O.E headers
Custom heat wrapped up-pipe
Walbro 225, bosch 044 if required
750cc injectors, bigger if required
Looking to run the SC54 billet and 10% meth

Hoping in the region of 500-550hp. Is this reasonable and would i still have manageable spool on the road?

Cheers,
Tom

I'd say you'd need a good manifold on top of your spec as the cast iron manifold, even when ported isn't good for that power level surely?

Hi,

the SC50 billet may be a better bet on a 2.1, spool will be a little quicker than the SC54 Billet and top end should be where you want to be

Cheers

I think you will be fine on a 2.1 and those heads with that turbo mate or as Kev says the 50. Kevs 22b is a 2.3 but look what that did earlier in the thread. Agree that you will need a set of tubular headers though.

Clive

Hi,

as promised SC36 Billet test results

A 2.5 wrx "hawkeye" came in for a turbo upgrade, its standard TD04 removed and a VF34 fitted and mapped........

Name: VF34test.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 98.4 KB

Using the VF34 as a base we replaced it with the new SC36 Bilett........

Nice result we think, bearing in mind its on a 2.5 wrx which is now just under the limit of its five speed box

We will test the SC36 Billet on a 2.0 ltr, which is what it was really intended for, however on the above vehicle it is absolutely stunning on the road

A very nice replacement turbo for just £750.00 + vat Trade enquiries welcome.

Cheers
Kev

Nice result with that VF Billet Kev !

I for the first time today got the opportunity to run mine on the road as I took the car for a MOT and I had a few photos taken by a mate with a proper camera + he knows what he's doing

Anyway tested spool on the road and in 5th and 6th the Billet 35R is hitting 1 bar by 4100 rpm, now this is a massive improvement on the old 35R, that one took until 4500 to hit 1 bar. Very impressed yet again by this turbo.

Anyway the Billet car as I said had it's pics taken today, here's a couple of nice shots -

I will post more up on my own thread in projects, don't want to fill too much of Kevs thread up.
