to fit an sti backbox to a wrx-d you need to cut a hole in the rear valance and fit a set of alloy exhaust finishers to tidy the job up some what

Does this help? Its a shot of mine when on the ramps at Iain's.

Glad I got it as I think I have a trip to H+S at some point. No one is sure if its the same as the wrx.

You might be right

H+S's wrx box

Might be possible for Sti box to fit, but you might need new pipe work from the engine. The flange on this 1 is about 1 foot out to the right.

I think that H+S STi box is designed for a different centre section tho Simon.. The STi stock back box I have has the Flange in the same place as your Exhaust.. Thank you +1 million though for that underside pic mate - very Useful! Maybe you can email me the high res original??

Hi i have a really silly question. I bought a 2008 sti yesterday and i have a problem starting it. My husband can get in it and it starts. I get in and nothing. I have tried turning the key different ways all sorts of things. If my husband sits in the seat i can stand outside the car and turn the key and it will start but if i get in it wont start. After taking all rings off and taking all other keys off tried again and still nothing. When i altered the seat or sat at the front of the seat i could then get the car to start. Its driving me crazy. Has anyone else had anything like this ????

I'm pretty sure there's a sensor in the STi that lets the car know if someone is sitting on the seat. Sounds like it might be faulty.

Is your car still under warranty? Might be worth a quick trip to a dealer to have it looked at.

Just tried it again and if i lean forward to start the car it wont start. If i sit with my back and head flat against the seat it will start. We have just spoken to AMC and they have never heard of it.

Sounds like a problem with that sensor i mentioned before.

I'll be as delicate as I can with this one - are you a lot lighter than your husband?

It could be that it's not registering that you're sitting on the seat.

Move the seat forward so that you are pressing the clutch fully down.

Is it the Grey Sti that AMC had for sale? The ex-demo? I drove that on the open day and thought it was a pain to start.. all kinds of pressing this and that to make it work! Luckily my Diesel is less fussy, I can start it without pushing the clutch or being in the car...

No its not the grey sti we bought a silver one. I think i have the hang of it now. Fo some reason with me i have to be sitting right up against the back of the seat with my butt somewhere in the middle so im kind of slouching. When i have tried to start it i have always had the clutch foot to the floor. I have pin pointed it to my driving position but have no idea why my husband can hop in and sit any old way and it starts. I think the car knows that i didnt want to give up my wrx300 so is paying me back for calling it a posh looking focus

The sensor in the seat has bugger all to do with starting the vehicle, Thats basically there linked into the airbag system, It has to be the clutch pedal not being fully deppressed down or The switch is failing

Finally!

Got mine remapped by Paul at Zen yesterday after refitting the RCM exhaust, and also fitting the my induction kit i had fabricated.

Before any changes it made a pretty much straight 300 on BP 97 Ultimate. After the induction kit, exhaust and remap it made a 360 of each, with a pretty flatish torque curve. Really happy.

Will post some pics of the induction kit up later, and some sound clips of the exhaust.

If i was to put the clutch down anymore my foot would go through the floor
