Great minds mate.. great minds!

The WRXD is an awesome car.. I'm really loving it. Came from a Legacy Spec B and in a weird way, even though the Impreza is theoretically slower and isn't meant to handle as well, I'm just loving driving it. i can't leave the damn thing alone

Talking Yes...

Hi Stan. I may pick up my car this coming weekend, but probably the weekend after. After the engines back in - Alan runs the car for the next 50 miles to bed everything in, then new oil and filter and its ready for me to do the next 1000 running in period. And I thought I was a long way away and I noticed you're from Norfolk !

Yo Mick... it's not cheap mate. It'll cost between £3 - £4k pending on exact spec. Quality, experience, and expertise does cost unfortunately.

Jay... we all want to know how you get on Tuesday after the remap. You did your run-in quickly mate... I heard that 'some' forged pistons make weird noises before warming up and quietening down - what says you ?

Sparkey I hope your knocking from the front is your suspension. My car sounded like that after a bit of piston broke off between the rings. Silent on start up and noisy when warm. Trust that you dont get that

A

PS . anybody seen those MadDad downpipes that are getting a bit of a cult following Stateside ? Seperate pipe from turbo misses the cat and joins a bit further down - it's meant to stop surge. Any opinions ?

So fella's

Seem that quite a few have the rally armor mudflaps.
I also see that the V2 flaps don't require drilling - do any of you have these ones and are they secure?

Sure have Kyle
Lovely car - I've been taking it easy so far.
Collected it on Friday and have driven around 100 miles 99.9% in "i" mode
Stuck it in "s" mode on Sunday, but didn't rake it - was just curious to see what change it made to the initial throttle response.

Going to order those flaps now I think, and I can also get the 330S stickers too if I wish

Cheers,
SHaun

It feels like full throttle in i mode gives 50% of s mode full throttle

and i mode throttle sensitivity feels 25% of s#

I used to WOT in i mode then switch to s# (when taking people out for a blast) just to show the difference.. I do not do it now...Dunc expressed some concern of snapping that amount of boost pressure in instantly..... was fun though, shoots off like a scolded cat..

Dealer ones, good fit, thick and hard wearing, they have a metal STI plate them.

Cannot find them on the website though.

I used them last year for my first service. Found the staff helpfull and the price was the cheapest i found. Problem started when i went to collect my car, nobody was on the service desk. Had a good luck around only the owner sat in his office reading the paper ignoring me . That really f@#ked me off, i politley asked him if any one was available. The jumped up little tool then started to march around stamping his feet shouting at his staff. Who emerged from the back. I felt bad for them all I wanted to do was get back to work. Not an apology just a tantrum was his answer, so for that i now go back to Dennis Commons would rather give them my money. Hope they find the fault mate and its nowt serious.
John

I agree - the Hawkeye ones were ****.

I'd only done 12k miles when I got rid of mine and the drivers one was nearly worn through. The Hatch ones are far superior.

i no what u mean staff r great but hes got ( little man chip on his shoulder)

well they had alook but with out stripping it down looks like strut knackered but will not say if its warrenty or not till they get it in bits looking at £100+ to strip both sides down & check b4 they will commit to saying if warrenty or not dont want to pay £500+ for 2 front shockers if not covered as subaru would only replace the one that was damaged not a pair, been looking could get a set of coilovers for same sort of price

Did the garage say anything about the after market springs effecting the warranty ? Its a tricky one, so they cant tell you if your covered unless you fork out for the labour first ?

Sorry mate, the joys of car ownership never cease. Like you already said to fork out all that money to get back to square one is a gamble. Could be the best bet is to go for coilovers. That way you know your getting a quality mod, not just another potential problem from subarus parts bin. Ive got Tein springs on mine, to be honest I thought Id lost the warranty on the suspension. Good luck I dont envy your decision.

They look tidy Rob - really suit your car and a nice contrast to the red flaps.
