I have an urgent question about the standard Sat Nav unit!

I have currently the std 6CD Radio, is the Std Sat Nav plug and play?

Or do I need other wires? Connectors?

Found one way cheaper, hence the question!

Does it also fit right away or do I need another surround also?

Hi Mate regards the Nav your ok as long as its a uk model!
If its from the usa dont waste yer money!! Been there!

Its an extra in the book and it does fit right in with no worries as long as its uk,I know as I have been on the phone to kenwood regards the use model.
So if it was for a uk model yer good to go,take the number from the unit and call kenwood just to make sure depending on the price of course.

Hi Mate,
The radio does not work and the maps are a nightmare just getting it to work was not worth it.
they sell them for around $500 over there around £400 sterling but not worth the hassle.

all uk units are made by kenwood in Belgium! all repairs are also sent there,I was speaking to a gent two weeks ago but he said I would have to buy one from subaru uk!!

Subaru uk,you must be mental £2000k and they expect you to buy it without them giving you a tube of bum cream!!

2K get real this unit should be retailing for around £700/800 here in the uk.

I have a pioneer avic-900bt just bought it last week brand new £500.

not fitted it yet but not a bad unit so I here.

Sorry mate but hope I have helped, dont want you to get the unit and it does not work.
paul.

Just finished the maiden voyage back from enginetuner and im still sat here grinning
The power delivery is so smooth if it wasn't for sound of the aem induction kit sucking in everything in a 2 mile radius you wouldn't know it was a turbo car. I dont have the means to post up the graph which probably prevents a ***** waiving contest between tuners anyway. But to give you an idea of improvement, max bhp is up 40bhp on the original prodrive map. Peak torque arrives around 500rpm earlier and holds for around 500rpm longer.
I got my run-in done pretty quickly because i knew from next week i wouldnt get chance to get up to enginetuner for a few months at least.
I dont hear any weird noises from the pistons. Probably cus i cant hear anything other than the 3" decatted H&S. In fact I might get rid of the stereo to save weight cus i cant hear it.
Cant wait to see your results, I wanna see how your modifications to the heads helps things. I missed out on that
I also spotted stan's car and his anticipated spec. I think his end invoice will dwarf mine. Stan's results will definately influence my next step though

Hi Paul,
Maybe i should do that but i dont have my camera lead and it would def need a picture on there. The bottom line is if i get the 200 for it i will be happy but thanks for the info anyway maybe i will offerit on here for a week and see what happens then.
Thanks
Kev.

Thanks pauli for the help! Ill not buy the unit now... The only thing that i liked about the headunit is the nice smooth fitment in the whole interior and the option you can see some engine parameters!

Does anyone knows a good look a like with the same specs? Will i need any connectors also? What about surround trim, because i heard the std units have a diffrent size as a double din!

anyone else interested in this pod?

I've had a quote (for one) of £110 (half of that is shipping from the USA) so was going to see if a multiple purchase works out cheaper per unit.

Do not know what HMRC will add also... maybe another £20

Before anyone asks.. no the gauges are not included
and they are suitable for 52mm not 60mm dials..
I recon an angled bezel might work to tilt them towards the driver..

We'll my proper STI mats should be here today - the dealer had got the standard WRX mats in error.

I've also just ordered a set of rally armour mud flaps - and I think i'll get the dealer to fit these FOC instead of the one he has for it.

Does anyone have door edge protector strips?
I don't know what they're proper name is, but something that protects the edge of the door from bangs against a wall?
Seems to me that the hatchback is wider than my MY05 STI?
We'll put it this way - when I park it in the drive I've less room to get out than I did previously

Just had a new airbox fabricated for mine, and my rcm exhaust has arrived. Car is getting remapped on Saturday by Paul at Zen, will post up the results. Think you will like the airbox when its installed.

This are pictures of the box itself after fabrication, it has since been powder coated crackle black which makes it look superb and factory. Uses a K&N filter and the lid is removable.

Been there, last year some tool caught my rear arch and bumper in supermarket car park. Surprise surprise did off with out a word. Like a quick between the legs when you first spot it.
