Rusti, was it rammed down there? Got to drop off for this engine out/ chassis rebuild there next week.
What clutches would anyone recommend for 360 hp , oem as possible; I've tried a Competition clutch with lightened flywheel, which was perfect, but don't know what stage it was.
Hey Buddy, It is always busy , but not too bad based on other times I have been, much more space in the car park.
Alan has fitted a stage 2 Competition clutch to mine as part of the rebuild and so far very impressed, I have completed just over 300 miles of run in on it and not had any problems, feels pretty OEM to me.
Has anyone installed group N engine mounts? There seems to be a £479 set specifically for the hatch onwards, and the much cheaper group N mount for up to 2007, although various ads state they are for all imprezas till 2012. I need them in a hurry, especially if they have to come from Japan. Cheers.
for what its worth, i only replaced the gearbox mount and diff cradle bushes in mine - std sti mounts are up to the job unless you intend launching it a lot

But if you look at them on Japanparts, both types are listed as good for new age onwards, so I've asked them what the difference is.
In the UK the square type of engine mounting is used for the EJ257 and the round type for the EJ255
In Japan the square type is used for the EJ207 and EJ257 and the round type for the EJ20X engine as used in the "GT" models ( SGT, SGTS, SGT customised edition)
The "round" type were homologated in January 2008 for group N but not super production.
So Enginetuner, despite being overloaded with work, and Martyn just returned from holiday, have cracked on with my chassis nuts. Injectors are being cleaned at RCM, new plugs ( one was loose, hence knocking noise and hopefully erratic idle cured) 2ndary pump blanked and removed, compression test all good, new engine mounts, Competition clutch.
Just waiting for parts now. Alan advised to keep my oe flywheel , he's not keen on lightened flywheel for hatches. Also not fitting the a/os, bit tight for money here.
Alan, Martyn, Ben and the crew have pushed this in,because I'll otherwise be carless at the end of the month. I really appreciate it.

I tend to agree re the lightweight ones for road use, so I’ve got a Fluidampr crank pulley go on, they are a bit heavier than than standard and have the anti vibration properties.

I had a short drive in PT82's virtually identical old spec c, which had the lightened flywheel package, and it seemed light as a feather, engaged easily, so I'll ask him why. Tbh I was happy to save on any costs at the moment.

Ben at Enginetuner pulled my spec c fuel pump today, because it is 10 years old, and we didn't know how it was configured with the anti surge pick up. The pump and filter is the same as the UK one, so is being replaced with a RCM one.
I'm awaiting the leak test and bore scope results, and the avcs banjo filters cleaned. The cambelt was done less than 5000 miles ago, so will be visually inspected along with the plugs, and reused if possible to keep cost down.

Good to hear its coming along Hedge. I had them put a new RCM pump in mine whilst it was there, just makes sense to do.
Having a bit of a Friday surf in the net and found the quite a few Japanese owners of GRB cars are swapping out the power steering return hose for one of these out of a Legacy. Apparently its to stop the pump from over heating which is a known weakness, your thoughts?
