Evening everyone, from what I understand this is the place the hatches hang out as every other sub forum seems to be GC/D related :/
Anywho, I purchased a 2010 wrx-s with 44k on the clock last month. Seems completely standard engine/drivetrain wise apart from the S spec prodrive extras. The previous owner added some flyeye to the rear lights and repeaters
It's the first time I've owned any subaru sooo......firstly is there a thread or link to some further reading regarding this generation specifics? I like to get to know a car found some bits of info already.
Secondly what first mods/upgrades are proven worthwhile £ per hp wise? I'll be sorting out the laughable body roll/wallowing with some decent coilies and ARBs. The stock brakes look a little lost in the 18s and personally find them a little underwhelming. I'm guessing the STI brakes are the choice as opposed to an uprated disc an pad combo?
Apologies for the essay, are there any members local to doncaster and surrounding areas? Seen a white modded hatch and a black sti.
Thanks for any help,
John
Hi and welcome. I had a hatch WRX before my STi and found the best value supporting mods were panel filter, exhaust and remap taking it to about 260BHP. I understand the turbo is one of the limiting factors here so will need changing for significant gains.
The WRX and STi braking systems are different and not a straight swap, a better disc / pad combo, decent set of springs and sorting some of the bushes should take care of the rest. Otherwise you are in for BIG money. Clyne has a sorted WRX, worth looking him up.
A lower et will push the wheel out, but this is combined with the width, 8.5 with an et 35 is a nice compromise. Check out a wheel fit calculator, plug in the standard size and you can see what a different et does to fitment, and if it clears struts etc.
if I look for alloys/tyres to fit my 330s... what size can fit my car?
I know it's 114.3pcd,
but what does the ET mean.. and what inch width can I do?
(i think my 19" GT2s are 8.5", is that correct?)

Phil, try using the tire rim calculator in the tool section of the page header
Does anyone know of an LPG converted hatch? If not any companies known to be good?
I start a new job in January and will be doing around 30,000 miles per year, so either need to bring the costs down on the Scoob or move to a BMW 335 / Alpina.
Tried and failed, Contacted PSI3 when they were still on the go to reprogram it and it was a no go-er then. So I bought a scangauge 2 with x gauge
Thought as much Rob back to the drawing board. How'd you get on with the scan gauge and x-gauges? handy enough to use and what all did you manage to get it to display?
other option is probably a greddy infometer but they aint cheap

My 08 sti, look forward to reading through the thread, not been on scooby net since I owned a type r a couple of years ago, not to mosts tastes I know but I love it 😃
Just had the 7yr service today up at Europa Sheffield.
All good. No problems.
Another main dealer stamp in the book lol
Hi Salsa-King
I have just gone to a new Subaru dealer by me to ask how much there 7yr service was £225.72 with hire car any where near what you had to pay, if you dont mind me asking.
Fitted the new black Zunsports grills today to replace the silver ones (Available to buy if anyone fancies them - only been on the car a few months so "as new").
Also had the rear wing off to look at how the Perrin wing riser kit will fit. Needs a few hours on a nicer day to prep the under-wing and boot top as part of the install. I'll fit my JDM black winglets at the same time so just need my wheels changed to anthracite and some ProDrive springs.
Has anyone had the rooflining out or replaced the antenna assembly? How difficult is it? Just got a DAB headunit and discovered that the best way to get good reception is to replace the external antenna with a powered DAB compatible one, like this http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Kinetic...ar_aerial.html
