08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
Cheers mate.. I'm Trying to keep the black and white engine theme going, next stage is to have the intercooler pipes powder coated white, & paint the time belt cover white. Bigger turbo to compliment my forged engine & an ACT 6 Puck Paddle clutch..
The Secondary air pump system is mapped out of mine now so I can remove it and shed some weight.
Still loving the RaceRom map.

Can someone provide a list of part numbers for the following bits off the 2011 hatch as I'm very close to getting the 08 to 11 bumper swap done.
Bumper assy
Front grille assy
Fog Covers LH & RH
wheel arch liners LH & RH
Washer jet covers LH & RH
Cheers in advance.

Hey rob have you removed the fog for better airflow or perhaps modified the grill? just dosnt look like it would get that much airflow down there.. defo agree that thats the place for it just wondering if i should do away with the fog and funnel some air sraight at the filter?? any ideas?

Some guy on NASIOC site removed the fog completely and found the inner arch lining blew onto the tyre during a track day, so it may be worth not making the vent too big.
my 2p worth
On a wrx
I think not
sounds more like a center diff issue the silicon compound within the diff has failed so when you turn on full lock you get a skipping effect, also used to happen if the big **** circlip used to fall off to

Doesnt look like they know what there talking about.
as said in another reply just a couple of posts ago what used to happen assuming I have this correct is that when your turning your getting a skipping effect on the whole of the car like a clunk sorta thing.
The causes of this used to be as follows.
when the silicon compound structure within the center diff used to in effect heat up it causes a locking effect where as it drives the front wheels exactly the same speed as the rears even when turning a corner, Now when you turn your back wheels are still trying to push the car forward but yet your front wheels are trying to pull it at the same time causing it to give the effect of the AWD system winding itself up. now the compound in the diff if its had the wrong oil in can cause the silicon to go funny and lock up all of the time causing this issue as the circlip which retains the whole lot breaks off and ends up rattling on the shaft.
and the other issue was the circlip those have been known to break off but it wouldnt so much give you the same effect really.

Just to add to Rob's post, the suffix "WU" at the end of some part numbers indicates the item is pre-painted, in this case Satin White Pearl.
Other colour codes are:
EN - Dark Gray M
I4 - Plasma Blue Silica
NN - unpainted
PG - WR Blue Mica
RL - Lightning Red
TI - Spark Silver M
VW - Obsidian black Pearl
The one obviously not available here in the UK - "PG"
Thanks Rob for all the info what I cannot understand is if the car is warm it won't do the skipping noise once they get it sorted I will let you know what it was thanks again.
To be honest I've yet to see a front diff go on one of these cars.
Doesnt look like they know what there talking about.

sounds like a bearing has collapsed in the box if its started to make a whining noise. this could be down to the other symptoms you've been having recently.
I will do Rob and I will keep you informed on what is the fault thanks for your help as always.
Guys, I've noticed that a few of you have tinted headlamps, what do you use? I'm after a very light tint... Also, is this legal / MOT friendly?
I'm going to be removing the bumper this weekend to test a faulty ballast, was thinking this is a good opportunity to tint the headlamps.
Thanks
