Whats the offset Rob? Same as the GT1s?

They do look a nice wheel and the car looks great as always.... But the only wheels i've seen that really fill the huuuuge arches nicely are the ET35 Speedlines Arron has (ignoring the cr*p i've seen on some US cars). I keep thinking spacers for mine but rather wait a bit and get a nice offset wheel to do the job properly.

pushed out.. like this off the NASIOC site...

TBH.. If I'd not got thhe prodrive 19" GT2's
I'd look at somethig like these... (again from the NASIOC)

question: I don't want to try it, but I've had someone say i'll bend your wing mirrors out for you!!!
So if the wing mirrors are turned in (via the power wing mirror button) can they be manually turn out without damage?

Ted, you probably did a lot more motorway miles in your WRX-S than me. Most of my driving is on A road dual carriageways with roundabouts and I must say that I never found the car in need of a 6th gear. 3.5k revs in 5th was the still equivalent of 80mph plus at the 22.7 mph per 1000 rpm.

Rob, get some spaces behind them wheels, 15mm should make them sit perfect, only problem I see though is 15mm hubcentric may be a little thin so maybe get some longer studs in with normal 10/15mm spacers, if anyone has the tools to muck around with fitting longer studs its you!

Had a chance to clay bar my paintwork the other day, first time I've tried it.... It really works and the **** that came off the paint was amazing. I'm getting into paint/ car detailing ;-) The Dodo Blue velvet wax came today so that's a job for the weekend. Should "glow" after a couple of coats of that. Also got a quote for some carbon wraping :-) and have a test piece on the car window frame at the moment to see how well it sticks etc. The parts I'm thinking of having done are:- lower rear bumper, mirrors, front side bumper vents, window frames and top of spoiler. May be some or all, what do you all think??? It's a matt finish. Cheers Ian

Ian,
I've ordered a 200g clay bar (fine) off ebay, to try out, only cost £10.80 delivered, so nothing to lose.
whats the Dodo velet wax, is it a finishing wax or a 1st wax then a top coat needed?

i'm thinking of a polisher to... the one Polish Blis do is about £85, looks good.
are you having a carbon wrap?

The Dodo Blue velet wax is a hard finishing wax so should help to protect the paint, most Jap paint is soft so a hard wax really helps. As for the clay bar, keep the clay and paint wet using detailing spray. If the clay gets dry it will drag and mark the paint. Lastly, snow foam can eat the wax off the paint so I have got some Ph neutral foam that should be fine. Monza autocare are very helpful and can be found on eBay or website. Cheers Ian

If you have never used clay I highly recomend it, one of the best detailing stages you can do and way more worthwhile IMHO than waxes and finishes as it gets all the crap off the paint, I try to clay mine twice a year and then a good polish and wax, this keeps the paintwork so smooth.

Just run your fingers over a car that has not seen clay and the difference really is black and white!

i've used traffic film remover on the engine bay this afternoon.. then a blast over with cherry s/f... then a quick blst with the jet wash.. quickly.. thena bit if silicone sraying... and the engine still works

and the stone chip on the bonnet that was touched up by the dealer, turns out to look like its been touched up with TipEx. As i've come to sort it out and found it all came off when wiped with a petrol cloth. So looks like I'll be correcting that tomorrow.
