Met Duncan yesterday (slight tweek on my map) and he said the 2008+ turbo is a peach and with a fully decatted exhaust he was having to artificially reduce boost (holding 1.5bar to redline with the waste gate fully open) with drive-by-wire throttle management (ie, over-ride the throttle request from the driver)

Even with the boost reined in (red lining at 1.35bar) the STI he mapped still made 385bhp... if he allowed the turbo to boost to what it wanted to it'll have easily passed the 400 mark...

(non of Duncan's mapped hatches have gone pop btw.. a fact he's very proud of)

That would be telling, they do have a nice offset though! AFAIK they have just been realeased recently and are special order for the hatch.

You'll have to wait and see, just hope they look as good on the car as they do in my head.

Default Exhaust Testing

Hi,

Just keeping everyone updated on the power results from Cobra Sport exhausts, We have been testing the latest Subaru STI Exhaust system at Scooby Clinics calibrated rolling road machine.

The car only made 286 BHP on the first run with its standard exhaust (It should have made the 300 BHP figure) so we realised we were working with an under powered car in the first place.

It made 6 BHP gain from standard O/E exhaust to 3" bore cat back system, and 4 BHP gain from the 2.5" cat-back system.

Cannot wait to put the de cats on

A couple of links to hear the exhaust in action -

Thanks

Pete

Hi
I have a catback system been on my car for 2 months.
Its 2.5" so no need for a remap.
Straight through center pipe and still quad exit as PPP pipe but each set has its own silencer so its a much nicer noise and breathes easier.
Best sounding Subaru pipe Ive heard and if I still had my car would still be on it!!
Have a butchers on the Haywood and Scott site for some sound files.
It is pretty loud but in a good way ;-)
Offers please cost me £750 ish cant remember only a few months back so sensible offers please.
I have a part worn Dunlop tyre too if anyone needs one got loads of tread on it
Arron.

Any of you guys local to Dartford, I'm going to pop along to the Kent Scoobies meet on Friday at the Wharf on Crossways and would be good if a few hatches turned up.

If so and your unsure where it is let know and I'll dig out the address.

Cheers

We were not happy with the strength of the Mk I spacers!

So Chris has ordered in some larger diameter material and he's re-making them now.

Will get some pics up when the MkII's arrive

These sound very interesting. Anybody looked at the eibach spacers tho, i had the hubcentric versions on the old M3 and couldn't complain. Good product.

Definitely interested in getting the wheels that bit further out, looks a bit girly at the minute

Did look at other makes of spacers myself but they were all £250 upwards, a lot more expensive than CDF's offerings.

On the other hand, having the wheels recessed a bit stops the sides of the car getting pebble dashed and needing a respray - even if you have mud flaps !!
