Main meet up time is from 10:00 however I'm planning to get there earlier to give Iain a chance to get my install out of the way in case anyone else wants to get their car up on the ramps.
Iain will have two technicians working on the day so if you fancy having your geo checked or whatnot, then this is a great opportunity. (And don't forget you'll save 15% of normal prices too!)
winmoz (Handling kit - to be fitted on the day plus maybe a nice front splitter)
StanS (coming to see Hatches amd meet peeps, discuss mods etc - no work on car).
MOTORS S GT
Mobius 1 (Picking up a few parts maybe )
Dave P
lord h
riggedSTI
Rob84
Codie247
Midichlorian
sammyh
stuart2008sti and friend in his 2008 sti
Simon C geo and suss health check (ouch)
Ghplumb hopefully allowed out not but not a definite
Shaun (in a very tuned Spec C)
Cheers

Cheers, that clip is for a turbo back rather than cat back, I spoke with Milltek last week and they said it would certainly be quieter as a cat back, anyone comment on this who has one, sure looks nice though.
I also spoke with Ian the other day and he said they are currently developing a new MY08 Milltek exhuast that should be a bit cheaper than the current one, its being redesigned and would be more universal so you can add to it with a decat later if needed, said he was hoping to have some more news on this in 4/6 weeks. IIRC the current one is 3" and std exhast is 2.5", they should not really meet up but do, his new system has something to do with that.

If I can get my head round it I will post a sound / video clip of mine, otherwise you can hear it on the 5th!

LOL......H&S hands down for being louder.......
i love the Milltek, it doesnt drone at cruising speeds.....but sometimes i wish it was a bit louder......but it does come alive once it hits positive boost.....and i think the clip on the Milltek site is a full turboback and that does make a big difference in sound......

Cheers guys, any sounds clips would be great, especially Milltek cat back and the H&S as they are my 2 top choices.
Do love the look and sound of the H&S but think it may be a bit lound as my daily driver.
Thanks

First, sorry to see the above accident, I hope all are OK?
Following a post in the general section, I have been directed over here. Please find my original post below:
Hi
I have owned a number of Imprezas, but took a break for a few years. However, I have seen a 2009 STi with PPP and Prodrive suspension for sale, and would really appreciate your views....
I noticed that you can get front fogs retrofitted, and exhaust surrounds.
Any info available about the 2009 PPP? It does not appear to be on the Prodrive website.
Any info/experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks
Cheers, GE90

Thanks for the comments guys
I'm fine, was a little shuck up this morning.
Insurance is with A-plan. Been fantastic so far The scoob was on a flat bed on the way to a Subaru approved body shop of my choosing by dinner, and a loan car left in its place
Hope the repairs go as well...

Glad all are OK, and good luck with the repairs. I am currently with A-Plan, so will be keen to know who things go - good luck.
Further to my post above, can I also ask how much it would cost to have front fog lights fitted? I would also be interested to know how much exhaust surrounds would cost?
Cheers!

exhaust trims were £110 but yet again fitted them myself in about 15 mins
so if you like to tinker then have a go yourself

My overall opinion...
Good Points
1. It's the easiest STI to live with yet as a daily driver
2. In PPP form it's the most powerful factory UK STI produced by Subaru to date
3. It's just as fast point to point as previous STI's, it just makes less fuss about it
4. The akward looks will grow on you, think modern day lancia integrale
5. The interior is still rubbish by german car standards, but it's the best so far in an Impreza
6. The exhaust parts that come with the PPP will give you some of the burble back
7. Like all Impreza's it is crying out for some decent mods to get the best from it
8. With only an exhaust, cold air intake and a re-map you can achieve 350-370 bhp
9. It is a very succesful rally car (the hatch STI is leading several rally championships worldwide), it's just not in the WRC...
Bad Points
1. See number 7 above, the MY08-09 STI was built to a price and it shows, but in comparsion with an Evo X it's a bargain
2. Steering feel or lack of it, mods help but I have still not got it how I would like it yet (you will get used to it more after time and learn that you can lean on the front end more)
3. The rear end is a bit wobbly and loose as standard, but a few mods will sort that out
4. It's a heavy car when compared to previous models so needs all the horsepower it can get
5. Some other Impreza owners will call it a Vauxhall Astra and turn their noses up at it, but I can honestly say with choice engine, exhaust, intake, suspension and braking mods it's the best Impreza I've owned. But it really needs those mods to bring out the decent car that is hiding inside the standard car...well until the Spec C and other special versions arrive anyway
Come along to the UK hatch meet on the 5th September at Litchfield's if you would like a ride in one and some more honest opinions from owners mate

Gutted for you mate. Hopefully a new door, bit of paint and you'll be on you way, most important thing is your ok.
Rob, and yes how the heck did you get the fogs for that price, i paid nearer 250 IIRC. I also fitted myself though, simple job.

My next mod is going to be the PPP after I have had the Litchfield handling pack fitted.
I originally intedned to buy the 330S (Took one for a test drive a few times) but read a round a bit and decided the bestter option was to go for an STi, fit my own 18s (Rota Drifts), get the handling sorted and then up the power via PPP.
I miss out on the Recaros (which my wife found to be uncomfortable as she is quite short and found the belt cut-outs dug into her head), the Sat Nav (have a tomtom anyway), keyless go (I am missing this as the remote unlock is very annoying if you want to open all the doors) and the black paint option (went for the Dark Silver in the end - looks fab).
When I've finished playing I'll have a great point to point car with for less than I'd have paid for the 330s.
As Dave says, come along on Saturday 5th and try a few out. I'll happily give you a blast up and down the road.

HARDWARE REQUIRED
I bought the Hardware from the website: PLX Kiwi Wifi - Connect your iPhone / iPod Touch to your car's OBD2 OBDII Port. - this was $150 with £30 VAT/parcelforce charge on top (took about a week to arrive)
if you have a UK impreza then you need to buy the VGA component leads for the iphone to display the iphone info onto your tv headunit. Apple Composite AV Cable - Apple Store (U.K.)
I connected this to the red/yellow/white RCA connections on the back of my Kenwood headunit.
(apparently the Euro impreza comes with VGA connections in the centre console if you have the sat nav option included.)
SOFTWARE REQUIRED
I downloaded this software to the iphone: DevToaster - iPhone app development, Great iPhone apps, and more
this was £24 for the full version, you can download the lite version but I dont think this gives you the OBD port readings from the hardware.
You then need to jailbreak your iphone which basically unlocks the OS of the phone to enable you to downlod & use 3rd party software which you need to display the iphone screen on your headunit screen. (sounds complicafted but its a piece of **** as the steps take you thru bit by bit)
all explained and downloadable stuff here: Step-By-Step Guide to Jailbreak iPhone 3G running iPhone OS 3.0 using Redsn0w (Windows) - iPhone Hacks
once all thats installed you just need to download the splitscreen software as explained here: Plutinosoft ScreenSplitr | Platinum UPnP SDK
then you're ready to go once you've connected and paired all the above together.
I have no idea if blackberry sites list software / cables for you to do this so cant answer your question.

Thought you guys would like to see this
YouTube - T20dyno
Its one of our JDM STI's having the new Ecutek software tested on it. The run is to check that full throttle gear changing and engine blipping on downchanges works.
Look forward to seeing a few of you next week
Regards
Iain

does the itouch have bluetooth?
has anyone changed their sidelight bulbs over?
i have the LED ones to replace but looking in the engine bay i looks like the headlight has to come out and for that to happen the centre grille has to come out which means the bumper off!!!!
also, centre console removal, want to take mine apart so i can tidy up all the leads for ipods

have u got pics of jdm mirrors compared to uk mirrors?
i'm interested in a set.
also, i'm having problems with the lower rubber front lip.
i gave Tom @ rogerclark MS the part number for it, taken from the STI japan parts list for the hatch, he sent me the part but it matches the rubber lip i have from my hawkeye sti lip, including fixings.
i've looked at the hatch sti lip on mine and the fixing holes are tiny and look like a small screw type fixing is used.
have u fitted any and shed some light to this problem?

i think i have found the exhaust for me
YouTube - GReddy SE Spectrum Elite / STI (GRB) / Sound
i had been considering the blitz nur DT or the HKS legamax but they dont really emphasise the burble.
