Thanks alot guys.

Finished the harness off and started making up the breather pipework. I need to get a couple more fittings for the breather and then i can get the manifold finally bolted up. Then i can clip all the haness and pipework in place, then make up my fuel lines.

Also dummy fitted my filter to check how much i have to move the header tank.

Things are starting to look interesting

Not much to add at the mo peeps.

Although i am on the case of making an RCM style inner wing cold air feed box. Ive spent the day drawing up the plans for it so my friend Ian can go and vac form it. Should be easy enough to do from plastic and will take an 83mm cold air feed from the front foglight.

I'll keep you posted

Nice work that man. Can't wait for this to become in the finishing stages.

Frayz, Can I ask a really geeky question. The screws on the manifold to head itself to the bottom right of the picture. You don't know what type of screw and length they are? Are they 6mm x 25mm? Want to change mine to hex heads to match the RCM extended bolt kit.

Steve, mine is using the Spec C manifold and 10mm thick phenolic spacers. The bolts required for this is M8 x 50mm long.

Hope that helps

I think I have confused myself and you here matey. Your on about the ones that you require for thermal kits as they raise the manifold by 10mm or so.

You have the smaller threaded ones that are on the manilfold and scew down. (I can't for the life of me picture the buggers location).

Why a Spec C manifold? Is the throttle body the same etc though?

Steve,

You asked for manifold to head fasteners. Those are the bolts I listed. I think you may be on about the manifold to TGVs that you have on your motor. The Spec C manifold runs direct to head with no TGV housings. Its a much neater setup. Throttle bodies are the same.
As I don't have the fasteners I think you're referring to I can't comment on size. Although from memory they are M6. Probably M6 x 20 or so.

Well proto #1 has been made of the RCM style inner wing insert. Its a slightly different style than the RCM one. Its deeper and will take a larger dia cold air feed, mine will be 83mm fed direct from one of the foglamp covers.
This proto is to my original drawing and does not yet have a feed to it.
I'll fit this first just as an insert and then make any changes that are required before adding the air feed in the bottom. Huge thanks to Ian for knocking this up double quick. I only gave him a drawing yesterday

Lol, no way mate. Just like to point out that this isn't a show car in any way. I'm just building it within a budget and to a level of attention I'm happy with.

Cheers mate, I'm already being nagged by Kev and Si to make Japfest with them.
Hopefully I'll get to a few events next year and catch up with a lot of people that I've missed.

Keep checking back mate. More updates soon.

Double quick turnaround from Ben @ Hel Performance ensured my hose and fittings arrived for the weekend. The ones in blue are only available in blue at the moment so they will more than likely be taken to be re anodized in black to match the rest.

Oh remember that bracket?

Well now my regulator has a home

Ive dummy fitted the proto wing insert today and over all im absolutely delighted with it. It does need some slight alterations, one of which will be to make it taller by approx 20mm. But even just resting it in there with tape you can see it will fit excellent once finished.

I think this is the most exciting thing on the car in ages. Once proto #2 is made we can get the air feed right.

What do you think guys?

Made up most of the fuel lines for the parallel setup tonight. The small line im not happy with which will be redone (thats why its not Nomex covered).
Amazing how time consuming making these up is.

I was dead set on getting the blue fittings anodised black but now im 50:50.

All requires clipping in place and tightening up but i think looks alright at the mo. Once these are complete. The engine is nearing completion and wont be far away from being dropped back into the car.

Exciting stuff eh?
