Time for an update of the drag car. I took 2 days off work last week to work on my car over @ Zen. We removed the fuel tank and fitted new fuel set up; two 044's straight from a nice little tank that previously lived in the Lateral Banana. This not only saves me some weight (22kg) but also solve my fueling issues as one 044 was not enough.
We weighed the car when finished and it was 1153kg.

We hit problems when the car died on the dyno late Friday night, it took some time to find the fault but turned out the dual pump set up fried the alarm wiring.
Many thanks to Paul and Ren for sticking with it as the end result was worth it but in true style with us testing at the Pod Saturday we wanted to get it finished although that turned out to be 2am.
Dyno results weren't bad for Paul's conservative rollers we thought - (681.9bhp)

So early start yesterday and loaded up for pod. First run I selected low boost (2 bar
) and it ran 10.11, a new PB. This was also with me holding 4th too long and hitting the limiter before the line. Seems more power now means I need to use 5th.
So tried again at full boost and you know it .... Snapped shaft. Damn and all that but I wasn't carrying a spare so that was it.
Very encouraging though. There's an easy 9 in there now for SSO
Here's the vid of the 1 run

I remember mikee saying there was a diff in trap speeds in each lane

Yeah could be mate, seems the same there each time that terminals can be optimistic on some runs and not others. 1/4 times are always consistent though, weird

Power steering reservoir relocation today on the Type R. Picker up a second hand Hyundai bottle to do the job
This will give me more room to fit the hard inlet pipe for the new turbo later next month.

Minor bits done today ready for Shootout tomorrow. In with a set of Morettes, not only are they a hell of a lot lighter than OE but it gives me the benefit of a direct cold air feed. Also whipped out some minor bits for more weight loss. I reckon I will now be around 1130kg with my lighter drag wheels on compared to the last weigh in.

Both cars fluids checked so off now to get trailers sorted for both cars. If your coming along tomorrow pop over and say hello.

So what's the cold air feed cited in the foglight cover do then? Does it go to the underside of the cone filter too? Or was it the 'old' position for the cold air feed, and is now redundant?

- well done on your time mate
