I've actually heard of problems with the 3 litre diesel...that's the main reason I didn't buy a 330d.

BMs seem to have "issues" generally if you speak to owners. We owned a 330d & had nothing but trouble with it over 2 yrs. FIL had a 320d & it needed a new turbo!

if you look up the max torque rating for the older 535d zf 6 speed auto box, you will find all remaps are putting out more torque than the gearbox can handle, so over time something will give.

another vote for emaps you wont go wrong with them. Had 4 cars done now and they are great!
BMW diesels arent dodgy the early e46 320d had problems ill grant you that but very very few engine problems with 330ds or 335ds.
You wont regret a remap.

Do IT!!!

I enjoyed the boom while it happened & one of my businesses is supplying plant machinery to opencast mines all over Europe. We still need coal

Ps the Bentley was 05 registered so it wasnt mega bucks compared to cost new & i lost just over 1k when i sold it, so nothing ventured & all that blah blah
I have to say that I'm impressed. Most people would have a serious hang up changing "down" like that. I couldn't give two hoots and have enjoyed ragging a new shape Micra, a Citroen Berlingo van and a Fiesta as much as I've enjoyed booting it in a Ferrari. As long as a car isn't truly awful (I have driven a few - old shape Vectra, mk4 Golf, etc), then fun can be had.

Just seen the answer to my question in Mattees post. £1k isn't bad at all. Thank god you didn't buy a new one, or you would have been £25K+ out of pocket!!!
