Surely money in the bank earning naff all is still better than buying a bmw and losing most of it's value in the next two years?

If you just want one, say so rather than trying to justify it!

Cheers for comments all.

My plan is - leave it for a month or two and try again. I need another quick car again.

you have allowed her chain to be too long. shorten the chain so that she stays in the kitchen (preferrably by the sink).

apparently thats why women have smaller feet for any given height than men

so they can stand closer to the sink!!!

When she wants a kitchen for a similar amount, I hope you put the blockers on it, and say the one we have is fine......(when you buy a house).

The fact is, you may think you are equal, she knows different

As a Subaru fan (presumably or you wouldn't be on here) why not just get a old classic for a couple of k and have it as a toy?

One quick car and hopefulyl less grief from the mrs...

C'mon Matt!

Every single car owned by the 'other half' is actually ours as well.

Just pretend its going to be hers.

Think my wife might be getting a nice Audi Estate next

Dont leave her, that's a bit extreme, as is calling her "it".

Honestly its not worth causing agro for a diesel estate car, I get the same, I want a Scoob but I am allowed Saabs, she just wont entertain it, cant see her objection but cant be arsed arguing, women are funny about men and cars, if they were free it would be fine but if it may affect shoe buying opportunities its a no go.

You could try,

Put a bit of cologne on, make her a nice meal, some soft music and your jazziest Pyjama bottoms, amaze and entrall her with some of your physical feats, then when she is putty in you hands, come out with your most romantic lines, nibble her ear,

Then stick the Autotrader under her nose
