My original point is I get very frustrated by certain people saying oh but what about on V Power, it's as if your cheating by using Meth/E85/Race Fuel ! Am I cheating by having a 35R instead of a 30R

If your running a big power car in particular I find it amazing that people take the high and mighty attitude 'well my figures are on V Power' and turning their noses up at meth etc. Actually makes me smile.

How many big power cars actually run everyday and do the school run etc, not very many ! So how much hassle is it really to mix a can of meth with your fill up ?

Totally accept if you only want to run pump fuel then do so, but don't have a pop at those that do, if I can get cheap gains I will take it every time, I would also expect tuners to suggest it every time as an option.

Clive I wasn't making a point against the use of meths afterall I'm going to be using a 20% mix of the stuff too. My point was about having a pop at people wanting to know what it achieves on V-power. As I stated before not everyone wishes to go to the lengths and hassles of sourcing, storing and mixing meths or indeed travelling a fair few miles to an E85 vendor.

I see asking what is achieved on V-power as a sensible question. However, I do disagree with those that say meths\E85 users are cheating.

It would be nice if meths and E85 users could provide a with and without meths comparison and all those that moan at meths users would just remain quiet

Hopefully that's my stance on this clarified a little

Agreed, I never bothered as I was always going to use a meth mix. Would have actually been a hassle to empty tank do a V-Power run, then a 20% meth run

Still given what we know 20% meth will do I would estimate 560-570 on V-Power for my car, that's just for you V-Power boys

Nice dyno results SF. Good luck with the strip next year

Cheers Stu.

Sorry mate, just going back over the last page & noticed I had left you out.

Yep, I thought I would end this tread as the P1 is virtually finished now. I put up the dyno graph to complete it and the thread once more became active.

P2 will happen and believe me mate I am itching to tell you guys all about it, but I cannot do so as certain deals are still current. I don't want to release details & plans until the deals have been made, at which time I will start the P2 thread.
It will all become clear then and there will be many that will be interested in it

LMAO ........ Daz has a great way with words PMSL......

This is what I have been saying all along. I have drummed it into my kids too that with today's communication methods, emails, text messages, threads, posts etc I firmly believe that at least 30% are read whilst picturing the writer in a completely different mood. Technology is good, or is it?.

For the guys who want to know how my P1 performed on V-Power, as follows:-

DYNO RUNS (all figures at the flywheel)

V-Power

1st run 445.7 Bhp
2nd run 465.2
3rd run 497.3

20% Meths

1st run 509.7
2nd run 536.8
3rd run 546.2
4th run 562.3
5th run 561.9

For some reason they printed out the 561.9 stats. The 4th run was more

Turbo boost 2.2 Bar

850cc Injectors were running at 112% on 20% 4th run

IIb/ft 498.8

Bhp at the wheels 450.3

good try, but no.

I knew the car was going up for sale as Paul phoned me several months ago and we spoke.
Mind you Stu I did seriously think about buying that car. I know Paul, and have been to many Time Attack with RCM so I know how well the car is built and what a fantastic aero package the car has.
It's often Paul's Zen car the that pushes the Stopper to it's limits.

Yes you are cheating as you have the .82 hosung whereas I only have the .63 Plus you never do a school run in your car as its barely a shell now Mine is a proper road car, fully trimmed and used as my only car

People running constantly on an additive, where is the problem?? people running race fuel/funny mix purely to achieve a high rolling road firgure! Whats the point Running meths is a cheap mod and a worthy one, wasting loads of cash of different mods to get you where meths would of took you for nothing is ore laughable The only thing that will bug my about a 20% mix is I only have a 50ltr tank and if I were to drive from my house to london and back I would need say 40ltrs of meths for the trp

Steve 20% of 50 litres is 10 litres, so you would need 20 litres for a round trip to London

Just incase people think I used the 20% for dyno results. I didn't. I run the 20% all the time and I have worked out a fueling routine that is accurate and no big deal to do. I have spoken with Dave R about it & he said no big deal as long as the % is correct.

The only important thing to keep in your head is that 20% Meths is not 18% or 19%. It must be 20% or a bit more.

The difference between V Power and Meths on the road as an everyday car.

(The dyno revealed I was running at about 470 ish. EPS (Dave Rowe) has set the map to run around the 545 mark for road use.)
470 in a Classic is frigging quick!. I was shocked when I found out the bhp I had been running at. It felt MUCH more.

V-Power
The car was really quick and looking back it was a very smooth delivery. At the Snetterton track day I drove it like I had just knicked the thing and with a great set up (thanks Daz Davies) the car was just fantastic to drive. MUCH better than I imagined. I cant relate that to driving it on the road because it would prove just impossible.

20%
The more I drive it on 20% the more I am realising how much faster it is.
Traction has gone out the window.
When driving it hard on meths there is one thing that becomes extremely easy to do and that is crashing it. Doesn't matter what gear you are in or what speed you are doing, if my rpm is 4 grand or more there is massive power full stop. On all bends I don' wonder if it will get sideways, I now it will.
Fooking awesome to drive. Can't wait to get it back on a track.

Its amussing when you reach this sort of power level isn't it When mine got like that it showed just how bad my JDM suspension was and made me scared to boot the car on a bend due to body roll and torque steer

LOL, only things removed this year were rear seats and I replaced steel boot for a plastic one, oh I chipped out most of the sound deadening. I also have a cage which adds weight
Me at 110kg doesn't help either

Anyways you, are you not going for a bigger tubby on your new build ?

Yep it's great Steve.
Glad I had the suspension sorted out before the big power arrived.

thought that was the norm everything done to mine before the big power, handling and braking were top of my list after the new twinplate (matt very impressed over the os) and the bigger injectors it only leaves the built engine, best route to take imo

Its a Hawkeye Wrx, no real target just a very fast road car, 500 + would be nice. from what olly said it will be similar to your spec your but tyring to keep the costs down a little. loved the way your car has turned out and the adivce you gave me at the rallyday so 2l sounds the way to go.

Hi CJ

Yep, I remember chatting with you mate.

Go through with it. Many guys have told me that they are going to have a car built to the same spec as mine but I have not heard anything since.

It will take a while but go for it

Keep me posted
