Project P1 600bhp +
Nelson P Junior admitted he agreed to crash hoping it would enhance the possibilities of staying at Renault, and it was his father Nelson P senior who told the FIA.
Like Brundle said "it was real low to mention it when the sport had been so rewarding to NP senior".
F1 has always and will always be full of that. Emptying fire eater systems and filling tyres with water have been known (one by Ferrari).
I reckon another trick has happened recently. Force India does not go from the back of the grid to the front within 2 races unless they had been given info. No way can development make such a difference in one month.

I was just wondering if Ferrari done it to give them an edge? And if it does how?
I say bring back full slicks, take off the plank of wood underneath so they can get the cars as low as they used to be. Then take away all their gizmos. No LC, PAS, ABS, TC and so on.

Yep that would be good mneame. Mosley needs to go and the rules need to be relaxed to make it proper F1 again.
Regarding the latest Renault episode, all the other team bosses knew what Renault were up to, but nothing was said because all those things go on, and always have.
Ferrari (years ago), used to remove the fire bottles (part of the fire eating system), refit the bottles filled with lead so they made the weight, then remove them enabling them to be lighter on the grid, (so much for driver safety)!!
It was a british team in the late 70's that were caught with water in the tyres whilst being weighed, to make up weight that had been removed from the car. They started the race lighter than every other car, unless the other teams were also up to tricks
It's also why most of the current F1 drivers look like Thunderbirds puppets. Webber lost so much weight he looked he ill mid season.
One of the only genuine gains in F1 is Adrian Newey. The guy is a genius. Rahal, Fittipaldi, Unser, Mansell, Prost & Senna all became world champions in race cars designed by Newey. He is currently with Red Bull. Keep your eyes on them over the next few seasons.

Cracking car, so similar to Marty's P1
Wicked! Indeed, awesome achievement.
Is that in his STi 5 Type R V-Ltd, that he ran in TOTB III (obviously heavily modded)?
Do you know what his engine/drivetrain/bhp spec was for that run, SF?
