I'm not doubting the quality of an RCM Engine they are the best there is. What I am questioning is the talent level behind the wheel of the P1.
Here's me doing the business at Cadwell on one of the bikes I mentioned previously.

Just incase you think it's some bs picture I've found on the net here I am on said bike

What was your quarter time? 14 what?

ignoring all the arguing..
anyone actually weighed there car?
All the 1235 for a 4door and 1270 for a 5door is well under what they really weigh

Don't believe I just said that.
That looks pretty flash for 90cc Daz.
Have you stuck yours on a weighbridge or something?Mind, in some ways I can very much believe it -- have you felt the genuine lightness of the doors, panels, bonnet, bootlid, etc. etc.?

That's why I bought an early WRX in the 1st pace -- (aside from a MY93/94 RA), it offered the most (turbo'd) bhp/tonne out the box
(even more so than the Sunny/Pulsar GTi-R!
).Damn and curses to today's lard-****-based cars!

Although IMO daz has unfortunately sullied the happy, jolly nature of this great thread, I do have to doff my cap to him for his choice of 2-wheel steed -- always loved those Gixers.

my uk with no sound proofing and a cage weighed 1228kgs and an RA on the same scales was 1284kgs.

Sure.
But dry weight means less all fluids, right? So add, say, just c.20kg on top for all oil/coolant/water (assuming an empty fuel tank too)?
Or is the true wet weight including a full tank of fuel too?

play with a few bikes and they are not used to a car being with them or nearly with them on the straight and then going around the bends faster but usually after a quick blat I back right off else they will end up bouncing off the country side and get myself in hot water..
Taking nothing away from Fudges P1 but if you creamed the bike it wasn't a CDR900 or he couldn't ride for ****.
Im the only guy in My falimily with out a sports bike, the garage has seen a new blade, k2 ,cbr 600 and a 1200 bmw gs in recent years so this argument has been done to death over our Christmas lunches
on a nice flat piece of tarmac the bike leaves the car for dead no questions
throw in a few lumps and bumps a few blind bends the car soon catches up
it is not easy to ride a bike on the limmit on a road, a subaru is easy in comparison .At this time on year there are a lot of fair weather bikers on the road who really don't have a clue. It's the guys in battered leathers riding in the middle of winter who will normally have your pants down
As im oftern remineded to get from point A to B, a 125 is probably quicker in todays traffic than any subaru
Skull
those spec r bit really do finish the RCM engine bay off well, there is a group buy at the moment which im trying my best to aviod

I had a fireblade for 10years and put 100,000miles on it through all weathers so know what you mean.. been trying to get as much fun out of a car since I sold it and getting nearly there
Look at the sliders to tell a good biker. The right knee is easy to do. See someone with half a slider on his left knee you know he can ride proper
Totally agree about fair weather bikers at this time of year. Most of them have a very thin wear mark on their back wheel two instead of to the rims

if an RA is 1284kg with fluids (not sure how much fuel it had in) if you take off 30kgs for fluids? that is still more than 1235 that is quoted for the normal 4door and the RA is lighter..

that's the probelm with bikers this time of the year
I had a brand new golf GTI try to keep up with me a few years ago, was all fun until he tried to take the round about at the same speed and ended up smashing the thing up - The dual track had a foot path running along side, could of been allot worse
you just have to spot the d**k heads comming and let them past

when my brother had his first cbr 600 we caugh him on a tight round next to the house going round and round trying to get rid of the wear marks to try and stop the abuse he was getting in the house
I let them get level, check out who they are and that's usually very quickly followed by clearing off on the back wheel
I've also been on the flip side of this. I was in my last scooby (452bhp 2.5) Had a play with an R1. I out braked him at a round about, he outbraked himself and ended up getting high sided and spat off. A decent rider would have waited until after the roundabout and then wound it on, I wouldnt of had a prayer.

We are good mates really and Daz has now become slightly worried about the volume of negative pm's he is receiving
He's a nice guy really
