Alien - although if we are being technical it's sci fi/horror/thiriller.
The shining.
Insideous, or any similar film such as the omen or possesion type like paranormal activity.

I'm not that bothered about blood and guts, but I prefere the more on edge thriller/horror types the ones that make you **** your pants! Although if i'm to scared I won't go to the toilet alone after dark!!

Once I read about the "new-born ****" baby scene I really thought the film had crossed the lines of any decency. Hense why I have no intention of watching it, regardless of my curiosities.

I could watch it as it's on ice films, but for the reasons people have mentioned, I can't bring myself to do it!

If you like horror films then don't watch The Horror Channel on Sky, there is some crap on there late at night, last night I watched "Blood Car" and it was really terrible,

In the near future oil / petrol is in short supply and this young fella discovers that his car can run on a mixture of wheat grass juice and blood so he has to go around killing things and people to get fuel and then somehow all of the girls want to **** him

I fell asleep and missed the end of it

The USA version of The Ring
That bit where they discover the girl in the closet and her scared to death face - gives me the *******. I can't bear to watch it lol.

Jaws
That bit where Hooper digs the tooth out of the bottom of the boat and Gardener's eyeless head pops out - gives me the ******* (I still have to cover my face to this day!).

The Excorcist III
That bit where that nurse walks in and out of shot at the end of the corridor.... Then the killer follows with hands outstretched - gives me the *******. ****s me up big time lol.

Salem's Lot
That bit where the boy is floating outside - gives me the *******.

It may be nearly 25 years old now, but my own wedding video still scares the crap out of me.

If you can catch them a good mix of films to watch back to back if you have the time is Wolf Creek and Monsters.

Wolf Creek - friends travel across Australia but run into a pyscho.

Monsters - a lad and a girl travel across alien invested South America

They both have a road trip gone a bit awry feel to them although to quite different backgrounds.

Wolf Creek is a bit gory and monsters isn't really horror but we watched them back to back last night and they seemed to fit togther (in a grindhouse, low budget sort of way)

Wolf Creek is an excellent horror movie, but I found Monsters a bit lacking somewhere.... just seemed a bit.... dull!

I actually prefered Monsters to Wolf Creek.

I appreciate that just because the budget is very low (under $500K) it doesn't mean you don't automatically turn out sh1te. English lad edited it and put in the effects in his bedroom.

Wolf Creek 2 was due be started shortly but some guy who invested a big chunk into the pot wants it back over some story that he didn't realise he was the only private investor.

The strangers was pretty good and tense, not so much action/gore but just the way it was shot. Certainly had the bird I was sat with crapping herself and wanting some comfort

I remember seeing this scene at the cinema (many many years ago), and the whole audience jumped at the same time. And I mean the WHOLE cinema. Phew, not just me then, LOL.

I 'enjoyed' (if that's the correct word) "Night of The Demon" as the whole atmosphere was creepy, being made in B&W, with 1950 's way of speaking, and manerisms.
It may be weak by today's standards, and any re-make IMO would unlikely be as good as the original at the time.

Seem to recall another good B&W 1950's horror about a mirror and a dream within a dream, can't recall the title, though. Professor Van Stratern rings a bell.

Also enjoyed "Flatliners", found that quite creepy and worth a second watch sometime.
And Alien I, and The Thing.

Enjoyed American Werwolf In London, funny in parts too IIRC.

Seems i have some horror to catch up on, might start with Human Centipede II, once the wife has gone to bed.

for 2011, insidious was my fav.

omen films are still great that kid is soooo spooky.

im well into the walking dead tv series though - class.

2nd series had me sitting on the edge of the chair in the first episode. last episode (til next month) was amazing. the character generation is great and before anyone mentions it, yes ive read all 90 comics.

what a story.

world war z book is totally amazing though i dont know how the film is going to do what the book does, but i'll watch it no doubt.

any scaries coming up for 2012?

I used to quite enjoy them but they just seem to be boring these days.

Walking Dead is awesome - not 100% on some of the things they've moved away from the original comics but still decent.

Switchblade Romance is one of my favourites - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338095/

It has many, many flaws but is still very good.

I picked up a film called Dorothy earlier. It's a pretty good Low budget Horror/psychological thriller.
