Wide arch, 400+bhp Newage rebuild...For the road :)
Got a bit more done on it..
Battery now relocated and wired up in the boot.

Covered up nicely by an STi boot liner, with access to the positive terminal if needed..

Made a cover for my fuse box, which just needs painting.

Strut brace mounts now painted to match the servo, along with new blingy nuts and washers.

Engine nearly ready to go in.
Built 2.5.
0.5 oversize
Wiseco pistons
Eagle rods
ARP rod bolts
ARP head studs
Cometic head gaskets
Spec C AVCs heads

Dragged it outside to catch some rays..

Brilliant work there Neil
Have you taken a little inspiration from D Money's thread ?
I like the clean engine bay look but it does take some serious work to get there..... as Frayz said you have some new ideas not seen before

Cheer for all the positive comment chaps.
Slowly getting a few more bits painted and mounted..
Fuse box cover.

One of Clives (mad hammer) catch cans in place, with quick release R clips. This is now in the same Grey as the other stuff..

Cam belt covers painted..

Few random shots of the engine, nearly ready to fit..

New servo vac take off..

Heaqdlight duct was starting to look a bit shabby, so thought I'd try and cover it in dry Carbon film. Not sure as of yet though...

Today also got the rear diff painted and detailed, along with the 6 speed box, but forgot to take pics...
Hopefully plan on having the new drivetrain all ready this week, and fitted by weekend.

Very small bit of progress today...
As I have tried to smooth out the engine bay as much as is reasonable, I still have the ugly air conditioning union at the bulkhead to sort out.
I could have removed them totally, but wanted to retain them just in case the A/C was re-instated at any point in the future.
So here is the offending bit of uglyness..

Start with a flat plate of steel cut to shape..

Make a ring to go around it...

Bit of weldery pokery...

Some filler...

Now just need to paint it white, and bolt it on with a shiney posh bolt.
Another niggly job off the never ending list.

Cheers.
Hi Paul, leave it with me and I'll see what I can do.
Cheers Frayz, I'm getting there, albeit a bit slower than I want.
I personally would be careful if you are having stuff powder coated though, especially engine bay components.
I have found that it can sometimes craze and crack up...
Get yer finger out.

Over the weekend, I have put the UK 6 speed gearbox in, along with the R180 rear diff and drivehafts.
Engine is in, fitted with the obligatory Exedy Twin plate clutch.
Getting somewhere...

Agree about the tank
the only other thing I would say would be is there anything that you could do with the heat lagged pipe ? be great to see both maybe painted or polished for a clean look. The only other thing is to say fantastic work there !!
Edited as as after thought here... PS tank fitment, does this need to go on the car at a certain height placement ?
Only if not this could possibly be relocated out of sight maybe ?

Cheers chaps.
Re: the PS tank. I've not yet decided what to do with that yet.
I was thinking of re-location, but there is now a shortage of places to hide stuff..
The intercooler pipe is also going to be re-made hopefully out of one peice of tubing, but not yet.
I need the damn thing on the road asap.
