I've managed to find a place for the reservior, but not sure if it'll work just yet.

I forgot to take pics, but lets just say that it should stay a lot cooler in its new position.

You been watching me Steven...

That's sort of where I have put it, but it is lower than the standard place, so unsure whether that makes any difference TBH...?

I was going to pipe it up and see what happens.

Managed to get a few loose ends tied up.

Power steering reservoir is now relocated from the inner wing/ engine bay.

It now sits here, after having to re-locate the PS cooling pipes, along with the pipework..

Air filter is now sorted out..

After all the re-wiring that has been done, I finally connected the battery up for the first time today, and to my amazement everything seems to work, and even had the engine turning over on the starter. 8)

You may still have yet.

Battery drained itself overnight, but then again it wasn't fully charged to begin with.

The pipework is std stuff, re-profiled and routed, with an extra joint in there.

I'll try and get a better pic of it for you.

Belated update.

Finally managed to get the car runnning after a few arsehole jobs that needed doing.

One of which was the fabrication of a new downpipe after realising that the one I had would not clear the 6 speed gearbox. This in turn involved fabricating new take offs for the wastgate, and the return back into the system.

After priming the engine, I had a couple of oil leaks, one from the Defi sensor, (my fault) and another from the oil feed to the turbo (not my fault.)

Fired up instantly, nice and tidy.

Doesn't sound particularly noisey either, definately hone to fit pistons to thank for that.

I also managed to fit my Whiteline Roll centre kit too.

As seen here..

Hopefully that should help with the dreaded bumpsteer I have on the car.

With that fitted, I needed to set the suspension geometry up something like, so out with the string..

Set the camber to 1.6ish on the rear, and 2 on the front, and then found out I had 14mm total toe out on the front, LOL...

Anyway got the rear to 0-1mm toe in, and the front to 1mm toe in.

As she sits now..

I'm going to leave it at that ride height until after the rolling road, and then plan on dropping the front 15mm, and the rear 10mm.

Next job is for Andrew Carr to wire in the AVCS wires into the ECU and get a road base map onto it, before changing the oil and getting on the rolling road.

I still have a few loose ends to sort out, but I feel we are getting somewhere.

No joy as yet I'm afraid, Mr Carr had to cancel some jobs last week due to unforeseen circumstances..

Hopefully this week should be better for Andrew, fingers crossed.

Ah whats going on, i have sent the last few hours reading this thread, only to find out that the car has not been mapped. OMG that was some read, it was amazing sharing your hi's and lows. I wish you all the best with your map, not that you will need it. Simply awesome, wow, amazing, you know some people just 10's of thousand of pounds at their cars and never get their hand dirty. I have to commend you for taken the time and effort to do it for yourself. I just hope you haven't suffered to much :-)

Thought I'd better update this..

So, last week we finally got to start mapping the car, which brought mixed results..

We are using a standard 2003 STi ECU, and after a few runs all seemed OK.

Then we went onto runs at boost..

First at 0.25 bar, no probs.

Then 0.5 bar, no probs.

Then at 'about 0.75 ish', which was almost impossible as it just wanted to go straight to 1.0 bar.

So we then opted for 1.0 bar, which again proved difficult to keep control of.

The car seemed to just want to go and go, and was extremely difficult to keep to a certain boost level, especially whilst trying to dodge World cup traffic.

Anyway, after a while we realised that we had pretty much zero boost control, and it just wanted to keep producing boost.

Allied to the fact that I developed an exhaust problem, and we decide to end the session to allow for further teething trouble fixing, before a rolling road session.

So I have looked at the exhaust situation, and I now have the turbo just running on spring pressure for now, which is at 1.0.

All I have to say right now is, GT35's are just an awesome bit of kit.
All the worries I had for slow spool, un-drivability etc are now of no concern to me, as it is smooth anything.
As I think it was Simon who said on here somewhere, they may not be the best set up for road use, but make for the most fun in an Impreza.

Next step is a rolling road set up, but before that I am contemplating fitting a DCCD set up, along with a larger bore maf tube, as I am maxed out at 76mm

Also last week I attended a bit of a Subaru do up here in t'north called NBO.

Decided to enter the show and shine along with a few other club members, and won best modified newage, along with best in show.

Few pics..

as above, simply awesome, love the look off the car and the way you have hidden all the unnecessaries in the engine bay, hope you sort the boost prob out.

I think maybe we are approaching the limits of the oem ecu, however it should still be OK for what I want, and what I can afford.

Watch this space.

EMB as it was, was closed down towards the end of 2008, so the number you have will no longer be in use...

I now work alone, YHPM...
